feel free to post more if you think it would improve melee combat.
1. when i shield block it should cancel out any swing animation.
so that when i press block i block...not wait a few seconds for swing animation to stop then block.
Sorry, You Cannot Swing and Block inthe same round. Once you commit to an attack in a round, you cannot change you rmind.
2. enemies should shield block more when they have a shield.
why?
3. running mobs should be fixed as posted in earlier threads by many others.
This has been beat to death......
4. a choice of melee animations for your character. overhand, hook, straight, etc., so that all melee ftrs look different when they fight. you choose the way your character looks as per swing.
No thanks, Id rather they spend the time Fixing Things like #3 rather than giving us more Eye candy
5. swing animations should be quicker for full ftr class as you progress, and barbarians when raging. more then what it is right now, and rewards those dedicated to being a true ftr in training.
Fighter get plenty of rewards for staying pure..... They also get an attack haste clicky they can use that progesses with level
6. a different chain of attacks after you shield bash. normal shield bash, spinning shield bash followed by swing of your weapon. or as said before change as you would like to see.
See #1 You canot Attack and Block inthe same round. Even Sheild Bashing becomes and attack if you dont have the feats. You Lose your Blocking AC when you bash.
7. ability to smash locked chests and doors with a str check. items will break in chests but if you don't have a rogue with ya something to do with it at least. {not so much melee thing, but str thing...i strayed from my op /shrug}
THere are some doors that can be, and many ocked chests have a Key you can find. If you MUST have that Locked Chest withno key, Bring a Rogue.. Or at least someone with a level of rogue
8. a grapple attack. as per the nintendo 64 wcw/wwf games by jukes/thq.
if you played them you know exactly what i mean by this. to those that don't well you hold down a grapple button for a strong grab, tap grapple button for light grab. then press direction and another button for a grapple more like a suplex and such. in ddo it would be amazing. str, size, save check all need to happen but being able to do a standing closeline to a kobold after you grapple him would make me smile ear to ear.
ANy people wonder why we dont have Monks Yet....
well thats some i know i have more, just can't think of em right now.
