Default Making weapons righteous for paladins

I recommend that Paladins at level 14 or 16 should automatically make the weapon they weild become righteous. Shouldn't we excel at fighting enemies with overwhelming auras of evil? This doesnt seem overpowering at all, makes sense for paladins, and gives an incentive to stay pure. Any thoughts?

Fixed that for ya...... Holy Sword is interesting... But certainly not all that exciting as it basicly gives you a nice weapon for Evil Outsiders... My Melees have significantly better weapons for just about every other mob.

Understood. I, like many, are underwhelmed by holy sword. The idea is to give a higher level paladin a bump up.

I think this would be an easily coded upgrade that could be given to paladins very quickly. I think it's fair and makes sense. Still waiting to see if anyone disagrees.

i would feel better about holy swor if it had the dispelling factor linked to it..allowing a chance to completely debuff a mob with a swing

or even the aura should give the party a righteous bonus vs evil.

WotC has put a cap on Divine favor at +3 because it can be used in conjunction with another spell (cant remember the name) to become unbalancing in a PnP campaign setting. Of course in DDO it does not unbalance Paladins it just weakens pure paladins, especially because the spell that it had synergy in PnP is not offered in DDO. This was not Turbines doing, it came down from Wizards of the Coast that Turbine had to make the change. The other alternative is that Turbine could impliment the other spell

Most recent mod6 notes say that Holy Sword will create a Holy Burst weapon, rather than just a Holy.

    So that's a step.

I feel like, of any class, paladin should either be a small splash (which is themetically wrong, but works mechnically) or a pure class.

That being said, I'm working on a pally 11/ftr 3 right now. So even I, with my feelings, don't do it.

This sounds like a good idea for an enhancement line to me. Sounds like it would be a good add to around level 12 or so, seems like thats when I started thinking what the hell do I pick up now.
