Default The Forest vs The Dragon

On Halloween night, Wednesday October 31st, 2007 at 8pm Eastern the Forest will begin assembling to take down the dragon.

This team typically only runs with each other as a static group (save people catching up in xp here and there). WE are a casual group that know each other well, and only do content as we complete the content before it. This group has finally reached the dragon raid after over a year of 4 hours a week play.

    Here's who we are:
Yew, Mithral Body Ranger6/Rogue5/Fighter2 (Two weapon tactics fighter and trapper)
Palm, Composite Body Wizard 13 (Energy and Force Specialist, Main Repair)
Ginkgo, Adamantine Body Fighter 12 (Ubber DR/Intimidate Tank, Hammer Master)
Noyse, Mithral Body Sorc1/Bard12 (Our main buffer/CC guy, Repeater user)
Laburnum, Adamantine Body Cleric1/Paladin12 (Lord of Blade's Follower and wielder of the massive sword of "new pain")
Beech, Adamantine Body Fighter1/Cleric8 (Hopefully 10 by Wednesday)(Our mana battery, back rank protector with the golf bag of Bastard Swords)

We have purposefully avoided this raid so we get a first time feel for it as a group, but we also feel we should invite others who now share our "Warforged Wednesdays."

If you are Warforged, between the levels of 10 and 13, and dragon ready, drop me a line here. We'll be accepting up to 6 others to run the dragon on Halloween providing you abide by our "Very Limited" spoiler policy. (we don't want a tour guide or someone handing out exact roles. We also don't "know our roles")

We aren't loot runners, we're not leet players, we're not powergamers... but we do have one heck of a good time.

I can't make any promises, but if I am online and you need a Penitent Rogue. Look me up.

***Disclaimer*** While not a true Warfordge, Rameses is built like one. Saavy?

    I am, Rameses!

    Okay, thus far we have:

    Yew, Ranger/Rogue
    Palm, Wizard
    Ginkgo, Fighter
    Noyse, Bard
    Laburnum, Paladin
    Beech, Cleric
    Mithral(sp), Wizard
    Ignot, Cleric

    4 slots remain.

Unfortunately Rameses this one is an all Warforged group.

Anyone else that wants in, make sure you bring your sense of humor, warforged character and Trick or Treat bag for Velah's horde. (Also, post or PM me).

Four hours until we start getting this together. I will try and put out a LFG if we end up with open slots.

Mythral will definitely be there and I sent Ignot and Volt messages to see if they are available. Very exciting, thanks so much for including me.

Okay, so last attempt went poorly. This attempt we'll try sending the ring and the voice left rather than right, and we'll try and pack some DDoors just incase we get ourselves stuck again.

The Forest Crew will be there, which means we need at least 1 more high wisdom to get the stupid doors open.

    Palm, Wizard
    Ginkgo, Fighter
    Noyse, Bard

Mythral, Wizard (I'm just assuming based off other posts)
5 open spots, one high wisdom needed.

Fleshkiller the WF wizard is dragon ready and would love to come this week. She is level 12 and dragon ready with Ddoor on the hotbar. She knows the quest well but would happily keep quiet if spoilers are not allowed. I will keep her raid ready for this event. As far as the actual dragon goes a little bit of spoilage might be really useful but again I can respect no spoilers if you wish. BTW I have enjoyed reading your exploits in the forums and admire what you have done with your all WF group.

Great fun last night guys. That was a great run on VoN 5 that went smoother than it has often gone with people who "know" how to do it. It was hard not to say anything about that trap by the last door though. As far as the dragon goes, I've always believed that if we bring down the pillars/gate it is a successful enough run. It wasn't perfect but will go better the next time. Thanks all for the Warforged camaraderie, my guild has an spin-off all halfling guild that we have been playing if we all get healing marks then we should be a similarly self sufficient group. Maybe we need to have a WF on halfling pvp day sometime.

    See you all around Argonessomabar.

Weasles correct, it was really hard to bite my tongue during parts of the run but that made it all the more fun IMO. And yea at least we managed enough of a recovery to get the gate down so not a total loss. Many groups woulda split and broken up before recovering And all in all not bad for a great majority of the groups 1st time with the two people that had been there before (not that I know it well enough to lead anyways) trying hard not to spoil everything

And yea to answer several people that expressed, umm dismay I guess at the actual mechanics of the raid I agree I really never liked the way the mechanics of the VON raid itself are implimented
