Default Dane's First Loot Issue Thread! OMG~Apocolypse!~

Ok, yes it's true, some of you have probably just dumped a purple twinkie in you pants! Maybe it is the Apocolypse.

Since the change to reward loots, where you could decide if you wanted class specific or random loot, I've gotten much better rewards for loot, for my bard.

Before I would always be a little dissapointed in what NPC's thought bards wanted for rewards in terms of equipment. Sure everything I could use, but was not the best option for bards.

Where are the good bucklers or wooden shields, to help keep ASF to around 5%? It would always be Heavy shields. Where was the +5 chainshirts that had great effects on them? Where was the Mithral breastplates that were good.

It would always be +2 mithral chainshirt of lesser acid protection. Mithral chainshirt? That's not helping me, and the mithral is taking away from some other effect.

or boots of disabling or move silently. Nice, but one, I can't disable devices. And move silently isn't something I need to do alot of. I seldom saw +ANYTHING gear for abilities. it would always be mixed, like +1 dex +7 Perform. =(.

When I went to random, suddenly I was getting offered +6 dex boots and more! Hot darn! Since I'm wearing Mithral breastplate, that +6 dex boots really do help! I would love some +6 Strenght items! I fight!

Now maybe I will start getting some greater ______ bane weapons! That would be great.

Maybe one day, I might get offered a vorpal!

I have gotten really great loot from chests during a dungeon. My bard is well equipped, with more then half his stuff coming from the Auction house.

I'm not loot driven in how I play. But I have noticed a huge difference in the quality of loot, on my bard, from end rewards, when I don't have it generated for my class.

But there is always a chance I get a whole list of items I can't use. That's a risk using this option I understand.

But I think when generating class specific loot from the end reward, and I know others feel the same about thier class, another look is taken at what is considered good for classes. Sure, I'm not dependant on dexterity, but that doesn't mean it's not good for my class. And if I'm dependant on charisma, shouldn't I be getting better then +1 items by level 14?

Ok, now pick up your jaws and make all your funny posts about me coming over to the darkside.

I just posted this on the thread two below this...

"Anyone know or have tested that option under "Gameplay" to see if it affects the drop rate of things like tomes? I have kept mine set at the default which rolls based on your class and am wondering if a tank has less chance of rolling a tome maybe?"

I was taking time off when this was implemented so missed out on the discussions then. What is the consensus here?

End reward loot is random to class, or you have the option to be just random.

My point, the loot I get that is random, and not generated towards my class is better then the loot generated for my class.

Same here, I primarily run sorcerors and wizards, and a rogue. I think the reason for this is that the list isn't rolling on such a consolidated portion of the loot tables, and isn't trying to put out a certain number of each type of item (armor, weapons, stat items, etc.) but that's just my guess.

And that would be the point I was looking for I shall begin testing this evening with it off considering all my drow fighter seems to get for end rewards is 98k gold kamas and dwarven axes which although nice for cash do nothing for him.

I love the new game play settings. I used to get nothing but junk (3-4 robes, 3-4 wands, and some lt crossbows or scepters) with my sorc for end rewards, but now the rewards are great. I've gotten a vorpal bastard sword, smiting great axe, shocking burst khopesh of maiming, +6 stat items, etc since the change. I've also gotten some junk as well, but I know there is a chance now to get at least something good.

Man, why would they make kamas out of gold, that can't be an effective weapon with such a soft metal.

It *appears* that tomes have a greater chance of appearing on a casters loot table, however that may simply be because the casters' loot table is smaller. I switched my Sorc / Paladin to random loot and have gotten "better" loot but I've gotten fewer tomes by a large amount.

Simmilar expereince here, my wizard has gotten by far more tomes than my fighter or rogue or bard characters who have done a similar ammount of questing. Could be pure luck but he gets tomes a lot as end rewards, always at the bottom of the list.

True if you are not a melee class it is better to turn it to random. I was sick of my Bard, Clr, and Wizi getting improved efficacy junk all the time.

If you are a melee class leave it to your class, and you will get the most expensive vendor trash.

After all what is loot with all the garbage the devs added to tone it down but another trip to my bar tendor to keep up my ensatiable drinking habbet.

Yes Drow enjoy the drinks too, but mostly the finer ones.

You need to use diplomacy on the NPC before you complete the quest. For every 10 points of diplomacy you have, it adds +5 to the roll for the generated loot on the reward list.

I'm surprised you didn't know that with how long you've been around.

Although last night I got a Scarab of Spell Absorbtion (12 charges) as an end reward from PoP....not too happy on that one....

You also have to cast bless, circle the NPC 3 times in a clock-wise direction and then /beg. This works everytime.

    The order of operation is:
    1) Diplomacy
    2) Cast Bless
    3) Circle
    4) /beg

    5) collect your uber reward.

THe Devs have always had an odd selection for Bards, Clerics and Rogues.

My Cleric Builds NEVER saw a Pearl of Power, Devotion Item, Caster Item, or even a Martial Weapon intheir end rewards lists.... Sheilds, Armor, and Simple Weapons.. Thats it.... NOTHING that would actually fit my builds.

My Rogue Got lots of Light Armor, Simple Weapons, and occationaly some decent wearables....

My Bard? Lets just say I gave up on that build.... It just wasnt worth it....

The new system is Better... The +2 Vorpal Longsword my battle cleric now sports is sweet.... But I would most definatly rather have a list that Takes my build and Race into consideration..... IF Warforged get armor removed from their lists, and docents increased, why cant Dwarves get more Dwarven Axes? Or elves get more Rapiers/Longswords Regardless of build? Race comes into play on selecting your character.... Free Longsword, Rapier, Shortsword proficiency SHOULD mean something to our lists....

A Cleric with Melee Levels SHOULD get martial weapons in their lists... Same with Rogues...

I'd be content if they either
FIXED the loot tables for those three classes to Include items that we actualy need
    or
Take ALL of our classes into consieration rather than just our "Primary" Icon class.

Ive gotten 95% utterly useless loot via the random end rewards but Ive never really been very lucky.

I asked for and fully accept this terrible loot.

At least I now see the potential to pull good items

How badly are you dying to get 4 +3 Dwarven Axes? Because, that is what the WF get. We get docents, but it is multiple copies of the same thing. not much better to me

On topic: To be honest, my ranger has always been my loot puller on end rewards. That girl gets fabulous stuff.

I did try class end rewards on my Sorc. I was not pleased. I mean honestly, how many robes can one girl wear?
