I feel for ya, I lived in poway during the big fire last time... Now it's worse?? Be very careful everyone.

Get out of there in time. Don't wait to be evacuated. Traffic will be at a dead stop and the smoke is really bad for you. When I was helping friends evacuate in ramona I had to wrap my t-shirt around my head so I could breathe.

Oh and if the fire is semi near you, do watches (like in pnp dnd heh). You can't rely on the firefighters to evac you or wake you up. They never showed up at any of the homes I helped evacuate... when the fire gets close, time to go to friends and family elsewhere =/

Best of luck to you all

You are so right. One of the biggest problems is people waiting too long to evacuate.

The roads at 5:30 this morning were at a standstill from people trying to leave. The authorities are advising people to have their cars packed and ready to go, why wait?

Just had an update from my boss.

The south bay fire is projected to head towards East Chula Vista by this evening.

Guess I'm not getting much sleep today Wonder how close it's gonna get to Eastlake? Watching the news and really haven't seen much update on the Southbay fire.

Aye neither is the news, I really feel for the folks that live in the Poway area, especially Rancho Penasquitos, however just like the 03 cedar fire a majority of what is on the news happens to be about that area like Scripps Ranch was all over the news during teh Cedar fire. I guess I need to live in an area w/ multi-million dollar homes... maybe then I could find out how close the fire is

Get this, some kid started a fire at San Ysidro High School. I have no idea how close that is to my home, butt its close since the towns are next to each other.

I keep hearing tid bits about chula vista on the radio but nothing concrete.

Right by E street trolley station in CV. Here I was hoping I could go to Cupcakes house as backup Too close it seems.

And I just bought 8k worth of furniture and electronics. Good that furn isn't being delivered till saturday I guess. Spent friday night with a friend wiring all the tv/surround sound though, don't think I can get it all in the car.

I am 3 miles from the base gate, so not worried too much. I could jog it in worse case scenario.

I am sorta LOL. Eyes are watering badly.

Boss just told me to pack up and go.

They are on voluntary evac so both bosses are packing up and moving.

    Prayers to all. Be safe.

I'm in San Diego also, its really bad. Things are only going to get worse before they get better. The only thing that may stop the fires is they run out of land and hit the Pacific. I am up pretty close to the San Marcos fire and it's very smokey in my neighborhood. My prayers to all others who are having to deal with this again.

    Hello fellow San Diegans,

I'm a native, currently living in Clairemont and I hope that fire stays away. This reminds me too much of a few years ago, and it was too close then. Good luck to you all out there putting out fires tonight and all this upcoming week.

If anyone has had stuff hit the fan for them around here, let us know.

    Talk about surviving the inferno...

    peace

    Aint that the truth.

last time, it got so bad for me we could see the flames of where it hit the walmart.

Hvy, I hope you are okay as its gotten worse in Eastlake.

All of you please be safe.

My biggest fear is going to work then getting trapped. News this morning said the Harris fire is threatening Bonita. This fire is bout 3 miles from where I work and 4 miles from my home.
