I just read the transcript of the meeting. Wow. What a bunch of bull.
I saw quite a few solid questions.... all of which were answered with the usual "Please check the forums and pm me.". The only things they would comment on were fluff issues or the occassional e-peen stroking from a fanboi.
This is exactly what I expected. My guildies and I were discussing this just the other night, and I predicted exactly this. It was a "feel good" meeting, nothing of substance. Certainly a nice gesture toward a grumpy community, but not nearly enough solid answers. I might suggest you bring along some of the dev team on the next meeting, and have answers in hand. If you need to know just what will be asked, why don't you check the forums and pm me.![]()
Feedback on what, exactly? All I saw were questions about development and some AI issues.
Seems like a Q&A session to me on general topics.
Yes and if Q had taken time to answer questions, that out of courtesy to the person asking them and the whole group gathered to ask their questions, would have taken up too much time and left many people ticked off that only a few things were even talked about we would be seeing a whole other complaint from you brootus.
Asking people to PM him on the forums was a polite way to let them know he wants to answer their questions with satisfactory information, but it would waste too much time at the town hall meeting to do so. Also answering questions that have been asked to death and already answered here on the forums serves no purpose except to waste time. If the high and mighty do not think the forums are worth their time to visit and look things up on then they don't deserve to have their questions answered in the first place.
That transcript is not complete. Since my question and his answer was not on there!
I love you Abbot♥
My impression from the "ads" for the "town hall meeting" is they were hoping to find out what people liked and didn't like about what is happening in Stormreach and it's development.
Even the types of questions being asked offer some feedback to developers because it tells them what people are concerned about.
I would of said, "I love the way "Orchard" and "GH Ruins" work, I'ld like to see more of those types of areas in future development. I also have concerns about exporting information to my pc to review while logged off, I understand DDO does not want to expose code to make it easier for spammers and farmers breaking the rules to see the code used so text files will work for what I want.
Right now friends list can be exported and imported, a tool more likely to help spammers as they import friends list they gather on "legitimate" accounts for use with temp accounts unless the export and import is encrypted to be used only by the same account holders characters (but this would offer some coding insight for spammers and farmers).
I wouldn't have cared if ONE question was answered, as long as it was a question of value, and so long as that answer was as non cryptic as possible. I guess that a Town Hall meeting isn't about answering the questions so much as having them repeated. I just think they really should have come much more prepared. The questions of value were things that were already asked over and over here on the forums. Having some ready answers would have been quick and easy.
I'm glad they're talking to actual players, that's an improvement. Now let's try working on having information ready for those discussions.
All I know is I killed Cupcake, and Rowanheal.
Yeah life was good.

Feedback sessions always scare me.
A lot of complaints put toward the game come from players who simply aren't playing as well as others. Changing, dumbing down or eliminating current challenges in the game can only produce negative affects. In my opinion.
Diversity is what keeps DDO interesting. I'd hate to see it mimic other MMO's.
I'm also a bit surprised anyone who joined in on this Feedback/Q&A event expected any hardcore answers. You should of surmised beforehand that you weren't going to get any.
DDO just needs 'more'. That's all. Add things that are different and fun. Not all the entertaining parts of D&DPP are based around combat and dungeons.
Variety is key to life.
