I think picking Risia is probably a mistake. I have it up but not everyone does and asking people to spend hours downloading and installing it...well... you won't get full feedback. What you will get is a select group, you know, kinda like a subset of those from the forums.

It might have been better if you picked one server (any one since it takes what 10 minutes to create a new char and run it through the basement so you can get out into the world)

And just out of interest...if more than 50 people bother to download the client and show up then what? With Q in instance 1 is everyone else out of luck?

Having it on risia may be to minimize the type of feedback ...who knows...but enjoy the meeting. Personally have not been able to get Risia to work since they used it to test the server merges.

Just a point about getting feedback.

They will never get full feedback. First off, not everyone can go. Not everyone will care, not everyone will want too, and not everyone will get a chance to speak.

So worring that Turbine won't get full feedback, it wouldn't happen if they held it 5 times, once for each server.

The other effect of having everyone meet on Risia, if the same question came up on each server, they have to answer it 5 times. This way, the duplicate questions will be answered once, for everyone.

This is more for people that WANT to be part of it.

After all, do you go to the town halls in your neighborhood/city all the time?

As for Risia, I think it's actually the most logical choice. I'd rather have a set up dev chat again, via the IRC method, but it would have to be more free in what questions are asked.

Is this a ploy to get more people on Risia or will we actually see fruit for our labor of getting on Risia and meeting with you. By fruit I mean will you truely be addressing ALL of our concerns and maybe be taking all legitimate ones further, maybe to the point of hotfixes or new content? I don't know about anyone else but for me I never ever planned on stepping foot into Risia. If this is a genuine effort to finally hear the voices of the people in game then I am down for attending. If this is just some stroke fest to get more people to Risia then this is a pretty low way to do it.

1. No, he will not address everyone's concerns. People will have concerns which are not the concerns of the whole, they will have concerns that are out of line, they will have concerns which are not within the scope of the game, whether due to programming or vision issues. You *never* address everyone's concerns. Because someone out there has a concern that there's no option for non-consensual sex between PCs. His concerns will not be addressed.

2. Seriously. People kavitch and kavitch that they have no input, that the devs don't listen, taht it's all going to heck in a handcart.

And then they say "Hey! We want to listen, come give input!" And a good portion of the responses are "No, too hard, not gonna work, I don't believe it, you're just trying to get more people to the server." Why wouldn't they want to do them, I wonder?

Also, um, a ploy to get more people to Risia? To fulfill their nefarious purposes of getting things bug-tested and provide a better product to the consumer?

Risia was chosen for several reasons:

1. Everyone has a character there. There's no "Hey what about my server!?" Risia is EVERYONE's Server.

2. Such an event on Risia will not effect those who are not interested.

3. It allows us the opportunity to reach all players who are interested, on a single server.

Another reason for having this event in-game is to allow those who do not come to the forums to let their voice be heard.

In regards to feedback, we will be taking each and every comment and question out of the chat log to document it for the developers. What comes out of that feedback, I cannot promise, but considering the entire purpose of this event is to LISTEN to you, it would be pretty silly if we didn't actually listen

If one person asks us for a longer nose, we'll probably put that much lower on the priority list than the 20 players who ask for better enhancements.

I think this is a Neato Idea! I am always amazed at the great ideas, questions and constructive critique the DDO community can develop; it always sets me to thinking beyond my humdrum existence and builds.

I have not spent much time on Risia but the opportunity to be involved in open dialogue and participating in my favorite game's community is something I don't plan on passing on. Thanks Quarion! *now goes off to decide which of her 30 +/- toons she is gonna choose from.... soooo gonna wear my new Sacred Crane Armor of Ghola Fan* ... ooo and that just gave me a question to ask!!! For those concerned about this getting "out of hand". It's very possible, though we're giving this a trial run, in the hopes that we can behave ourselves. Should it be just a few causing trouble, we have way's of ... well...lets just say they won't be a problem for long. Muahahah.

I would suggest getting a delegation together to voice their needs for this item. You must beat out the longer nose crowd, mind you, who have a grass roots base it seems already.
