In responce to the OP, how do you know mana-sponge pally wasn't just as broke? Sounds like he was taking quite a beating. Can you imagine what his repair bill will be? I doubt many tank type melees ever ask for donations for thier repair bill, because its part of thier role in the group to take the damage, and deal with it. I know people will point out repair bills are nothing to wand costs. Ask yourself when was the last time you had a very nice wepon permenantly destroyed?

There is no quest that you can complete while incurring a repair bill costing more than the coin from selling one chest's worth of loot.

If you think tanks receive more than their share of item damage, perhaps you should take a rank of Item Protection.

As for permanent damage - binding an item in the Stone of Change will prevent permanent damage.

I read a lot of posts like this one. I have played a cleric and had people berate and yell at me as well. I deleted all of them.

I rolled a WF FvS Lord of Blades build using the Metal Cockroach build. First I love this build, I solo everything and it's fun! I wish I could give the author more rep for posting it, really superb build.

I have been in several groups recently that did very very well. I have about 1000 sp at lvl 10 and 230 hp. Wielding a holy greatsword and keeping the party alive is a blast. I hope those who have run with me have had a fun time as well.

I have been in several of those groups people complain about. If we're running a quest I know I could solo my plan is very simple. I heal just like I would in the good groups. If people get in trouble from making bad decisions I let them die. They get to ride in my backpack while I look for the next shrine. Note I do not go back to an old shrine unless I need to for my own needs. I have finished quests with them in my backpack. This does not bother me in the least and it teaches them valuable lessons as they watch the rest of the group complete the quest.

I love playing healers and supporting the group. I love my WF and lugging around two handed swords that have white flames is just good fun. It has become my favorite character.

I feel sorry for the people who have high level clerics that do not enjoy playing them because of others. Get in better groups is the only thing I can tell you. Or play to have fun, if others do dumb things don't get mad, pick up their stone and give them a ride. They just saved you SP by letting you know healing them is pointless since they are idiots. Thank them for it and move on to quest completion.

If you see Ultramarine in game and you need a healer or healer/dps let me know, I love grouping.
