Help corestrings.dll Problem

When I start the launcher up it will do everything just fine, but as soon as I pick the place and click play, I get a game error[131] and it closes. The error is <corestrings.dll is missing string ID 131>[131]
I just bought the game the other day and I would really like to start playing. I already asked support for help and they gave me a link to another download of the program saying it I had a corrupt file but it didn't work, which I had tried before but it didn't work this time either. I also tried replacing the file with the one in the backup folder, didn't work. Some people on the forum have said it's something to do with Vista, but I would rather get a refund on the game than have to change my new computer to a XP. So please help me I'm getting kinda desperate now and I really don't want to give up on playing the game just because of a stupid error that they should have made a patch for by now if it really is about vista.

Hmm...odd that the file with the string didn't update.

That error is:

"Unable to find the desired game display mode. Please try resetting the game graphics options via the Launcher."

It's trying to go to a video mode that's unsupported - so either video settings were changed...or try changing the "fakefullscreen" mode in the userpreferences.ini to false.

I had a corestrings error also but it was 132. The problem was that the trial version I downloaded did not come with a user preferences file at all. When someone sent me one on another thread, it worked fine.
