Default Fixed Quest Log for non lifers of the game

I'm a casual user, maybe a few hours each weekend. I recently got flamed for joining a group that was doing the "The Twilight Forged" that had tons of pre-quests that needed to get done.

I didn't know, there's nothing in the quest log nor adventure compendium to indicate that quest has a "Pre-quest" component. I'm not an online lifer, just a casual gamer.

I wish the adventure compendium would be changed to a tree format, so you can see which quests are series, what are the prequests, and your status of that series. sort of like:

    -DragonRaid
    Von 1
    Von 2
    Von 3
    etc....

As the game continues to expand, keeping track of all this currently becomes a bit much for the casual gamer and getting flamed when I only have a few hours of gameplay available is not my idea of fun.

Not EVERYONE knows all the quests by memory, nor can I believe Turbine expects each player to, so at least throw us "non" online lifers a little help in this growing world....

While a tree display would be ideal I doubt that the quest log will get much attention for a while. However, it probably wouldn't be too hard for them to add at the top of the quest descriptions something that explains the quests required to do it (such as The Bloody Crypt showing it needs the four different Heart tombs).

Another solution that is likely quicker would be to see if anyone on the forums already has a list like this. There are some community members that put an amazing amount of effort into tasks like this for the community benefit.

Sorry to hear that you got flamed ingame. Leaders used to post "must be flagged" or somesuch. I suppose as the game has gotten older, people assume too much, and have started slacking in their LFM posts.

My hopes was that with the "by series" listing in the Grouping LFM settings, we would see new ways to sort. Unfortunately, we have yet to see that.

I agree, some sort of structure which shows any pre-reqs for a given quest would be nice. Until that happens, perhaps this will help you?

It has helped me a great deal in preparing for the various raids.

    Default Quest information

    Hi guys,

Here is the quest list I have been trying to keep up to date...It actually has a list of the chain quests both in the list and on a separate tab.

I still have a few holes from MOD5. I need some dungeon names, but I have all the quests and the quest givers.

I also need a clear write up on the new Raid pre-reqs and items needed and such to put on my raid tab...

This is always a work in progress... I hope it helps you some.

    Hi Rowan,
Was I supposed to be sent to a Google log-in page from your link?

Hey bud, I am a lifer and have tried to gather information and make a guide based on requests like this one. Though the guide I have been working on is, hopefully, more like one of those game walkthrough magazines you can get for some games. I tried to include basic information on all the quests, including which ones require a prerequisite to join in on.

To paraphrase that particular aspect of it, the only quests that have an absolute requirement for you to join are:
    1. The Slavers of the Shrieking Mines (must have completed Hiding in Plain Sight)
    2. Bring me the Head of Ghola-Fan (must have completed Hiding in Plain Sight)
    3. The Twilight Forge/The Titan Awakes (must have items from Shrieking Mines and Ghola-Fan)
    4. Vault of Night/Plane of Night (Must have completed quest series: Tharashk Arena, The Prisoner, Jungle of Khyber, Haywire Foundry)
    5. Zawabis Revenge (Must have completed and turned in items from Chains of Flame, Chamber of Raiyum, Offering of Blood, then completed Against the Demon Queen)
    6. GiantHold Tor (Must have completed Madstone Crater, Prison of the Planes, Crucible, as well as collecting 20 of each relic type; elf, dragon, giant)
    7. The Reaver's Fate (Must have completed all three dragon optionals in Gianthold Tor)
    8. Litany of the Dead (must have traded in a complete sigil, by finding all 8 pieces scattered semi-randomly throughout the 4 quests in the Orchard of the macabre)
    9. Accursed Ascension (must have completed all 4 optional endings in The Litany of the Dead)

So... 9 quests to remember. All others you can join in on, even if you are not on that part of a series, so long as someone in the group is.
If you are interested, my guide is linked here: The Lost Quest Guide

Also, Rowanheal's Spreadsheet is a great quick referance guide.

Sad to hear you got flamed, it happened a few times to get players that weren't flagged when PuGGing a few members to do the preraid (not much members in the afternnon whe most people are working). We just said no worries man, we'll someone else.

I usually put a "Must be flagged" or "Must have full sigil", etc. So don't... and some don't read the LFM.. In both situation, no need to go crazy about it, it's just a game. In the worse of all cases, they waste five minutes of their time, I hope they'll survive it.

Thanks for the guides, I bookmarked them right away.

I'm aware anyone can run any quest at any time, albeit not raids, but there are many that you won't get credit for unless you do them in the right order.

House P Necropolis comes to mind. Sure I can join a group to battle the vampire, but unless I have all 4 tomb quests complete, I can't get that quest and I won't receive favor, although I will get XP.

Same goes for Delera's Tomb series, Tangleroot, etc, etc, etc.

For me, it's not necessarily a matter of WHAT you can join, it's a matter of knowing if the quest is part of a series and WHERE you stand in that series, without having to "ALT-TAB" to look at an external document.

Thank you very much for those documents by the way, a huge help. It just seems to me, that in a game that totally depends and revolves around quests that the quest log is as limited as it is.

Actually you will always get the full favor, regardless if you have the quest. As well as all the xp, the loot, and in that particular quest the ability to upgrade your trinket, even if you haven't completed the series.

The only thing you would miss out on is the end reward, which for that quest is complete junk.
