    Default DDO Down time Timing

Hi all, I am new here for about 5 weeks, and am enjoying the Game. However it is VERY frustrating that in a Major Canadian holiday (Thanksgiving)when I planned to go online for a while You decide to TAKE down the servers from 7am to 1pm EST... Not all users are in the US. In future concider Major Holidays for the other countries as they will be major playing days for the users. If the repair could not wait, it would have been better if the servers were down from 4am to 9am EST.

I don't think it was anything they wanted to do... they're fixing a major issue with the new Raid. And, they gave us quite a bit of warning before the fact - more than usual.

I'm frustrated when the servers go down too, but I don't think they planned to hose anyone over with this one.

I agree it needs to be fix quickly. But with the weekend over, pushing the raid fix to tuesday would not have hurt.

Sure it would have... people would have been posting here "Why is the raid closed another day?!? I just got my sigil ready when you closed it!!! I don't pay you to have closed raids - FIX IT!!!"

    ect.

I'd rather have downtime today and fix tonight than wait another day to raid. My 2 cp of course.

Then what they should have done was change the time points. For the short time that I have played- they have not shut down on the weekend before and a longweekend is still a weekend. They need to weigh the benefits- most of the players I am sure are not waiting for the fix. I know I waited a long time for the fix of the lower level dungeons that had the slime respawning issues.

Any time they bring the servers down, it's going to be a bad time for someone. It's not a good time for me, either. I'm sure a lot of people were madder than hell the raid was closed for the weekend when they could devote the most hours to DDO.

But, I'd rather they fix a problem quickly as opposed to sit on it. Now is when they are fixing it, so I'm okay with that.

True- what is done is done- hope they take it into account for future down times though. Besides, it has given me a chance to poke around the forums .

I am off today... Lots of people are off in the US on Columbus day. For example EVERY student and teacher to start. Nevermind the fact that all of Canada is off.

Been playing since launch and I cant tell you how many times I made plans to play on a day off or a holiday and been shafted by down time. Countless times... its the nature of the beast. Got to roll with the punches.

What I did, being given 3 days notice which Turbine somtimes does not give, is to plan ahead. I slept in Sunday so i could stay up late Sunday night playing the game, then slept in Monday morning... now im up and the servers will be up in a few... might not work for everyone but you got to do what you got to do if you want to beat the Turbine minds...
