Default You have -1 action points

After Mod 5, one of my wife's characters logged in with -1 (i.e., negative one) action points. Did the costs of some enhancements retroactively change or is there some obvious explanation to this?

I think some (or all) of the metamagic ones got adjusted. Those are the only ones I'm aware of. And no, to my knowledge, it's not been announced any where.

God I hate them when they are doing this.

How are we supposed to have a good wiki when they can't even tell us when they change something....
At least it's only the enhancements. We are already no up-to-date on those.

I actually think one of my fighters lost 2 action points too. I don't recall anything in the release notes about this nor have I seen any other discussion about it (but I only skim the forums). If I get motivated, I'll try to compare my in-game enhancements with the costs listed in the character planner.

Well, to be fair, it seems a foregone conclusion that, with the entire Metamagic system changing, the Metamagic Enhancements would probably change too.

So I'd've given them a look if I were you, even sans announcement.

    Frick!

If anyone goes through the enhancement costs and finds differences between what's in the character planner and what's in the game, do me a huge favor and let me know about it so I can change the planner.

    According to the Online Compendium:
    • Wizard and Sorcerer Improved Heighten I are now level 6Wiz/Sorc required, 4 AP cost (must have spent 16AP). Same as ImpMetamagicII for other metamagics.
    • Wizard and Sorcerer Improved Heighten II are now level 10Wiz/Sorc required, 6 AP cost (must have spent 30AP). Same as ImpMetamagicIII for other metamagics.

Ok, I don't think my fighter lost anything, but my wife's sorcerer definitely did.

They should have been announced rather than have players have to search for them. Secondly, they either should "grandfather" players who are subject to the change or allow them to reset their enhancements without cost.

Obvioulsy, with the mod out for some time now it is not a major issue for most players but it is a bit of a shock they would do this.

Well, they kind of did. You keep all your enhancements (including Improved Heighten III which apparently no longer exists) until you choose to respec and/or you get new enhancements (at which point you have to pay for your now-more-expensive ones).

I hear you, but it appears rather than just saying "Keep it as is" instead they said keep it and we will ding you so you lose upcoming enhancement points.

Overall, I am never in favor of things that require circumstantial deduction at best. Two people can take the same information and come to very distinct conclusions.

The lack of an announcment was wrong. This is especially true when these boards have been raving for more info on game issues and constant requests pre-mod 5 for a State of DDO info.

If it was an oversight or error, ok, just say that ...

I never support that kind of grandfathering. It tends to be unbalancing and unfair to new people.

Yeah, I suppose I can grant you that. They should've said something more specifically about it.

(Unless it's a bug. It's a bit weird as Mad_B has shown that Heighten I and II seem to line up with the other enhancements II and III.)

Thanks, got em (also changed all of the MM descriptions). If there are any others anyone finds, let me know.

Note: I haven't confirmed the above numbers ingame. That's just what I saw on the Compendium.

And now that I think about it... going from 2/4/6 to 4/6/0 (no ImpHeightenIII) would be +2 AP. Ok, I have no clue what's happening.
