Adamantine Armor Damage Reduction Not Working

My combat log says that im getting damage reduction from attacks but my health is being charged the full amount, Not getting the 3/- taken off damage.

The combat log reads, "xxx hits you for 5 damage, 3 was stopped by your Damage Reduction." That does not mean you take 2. It means you were hit for 8 and 3 was stopped, resulting in net damage of 5.

Not a problem. It's a bit confusing because the combat log does the math for us. It lists difference (net dmg), then subtrahend (DR) but not the minuend (gross damage). The question usually arises when people see,
"(Combat): xxx hits you for 1 damage, 3 was stopped by your Damage Reduction." Followed by,
"(Combat): You take 1 point of damage."
