Default Minor issue - 0 damage arrows

I happen to enjoy collecting arrows, and I've noticed on multiple occasions recently that the arrows, whilst claiming to be sweet, are, at least according to the hover description, rather un-sweet.

For example - 20 +1 arrows of Orc Slaying. Damage 0-0

I've had the same thing w/some +4 arrows, and some +2 anarchic arrows.

However, I don't think this is happening to throwing items.

I haven't had the chance yet to see if this is a display bug or an actual bug. I'll try them out tonight.

    Anyone else notice this?

Would that possibly be because the damage an arrow does is based upon the bow it is shot out of?

You're right about the damage, I suppose, but something seems wrong. I'll have to look at some of my other stacks.

I do know that in at least one situation, the +4 arrows did not have the normal blue background - I need to see if they stack with my other +4 arrows.

    thanks.

Is it possible that whatever you're shooting has a DR/Pierce Greater than the damage caused by the arrows?

It seems there is a bug with the display of the arrows this time around. When buying house D +3 sturdy arrows you now get the brown masterwork/non-magical background. This happens with other magical arrows looted from chests and mail packages. If you log out and then log back in it should change the background issue.

On the damage issue the arrows should still display damage based on their enhancements; +1 arrow should show a damage 1-1, +4 damage 4-4. The variable part of the damage comes from the base weapons damage. All bows inherently show their damage with regular arrows rather then any magical arrows. It seems like a small over site on the part of the devs to have arrows show as dealing 0-0 damage unless they are regular arrows.

actually, you can still do 0 damage, I've done 0 main damage with a +3 Flaming BS, both with the flaming and the sword itself. so it IS posible to do 0-0 with any weapon in the game.

    Post Background

Yeah I think there is a problem with some of the icon graphic backgrounds, I got a muckbane last night, which should have had the blue background, but it was the normal background for non magical weapons, but the good thing is, it still acted as a magical weapon so no biggie.

Except that the bow already lists the damage for it's enhancement bonus, and the don't stack.

It makes more sense to me to only show damage on bows and have the field be missing on ammunition.

    [reminisce on]
Remember the good ol'e days (2nd ed.) when to-hit was on bows and damage was on arrows. To get double bonus, you had to have both! And Longbows could fire Flight (1d6) or Sheaf (1d8) arrows, but shortbows could only fire Flight.
