    Default WF pure DPS sorc

I'm considering rolling a 32 pt WF DPS sorc, and was just looking for some input.

The way I see it, a damage sorc will find more utility in self heals and immunities than 1 or 2 extra spell DC, especially when he will primarily be casting firewalls, scorching rays, fireballs, and cones of cold.

Do you guys agree with me?? I think this type of character could be tons of fun and nigh invincible end-game.

Just rolled one up on Argo, the stats were:
    STR 8
    DEX 8
    CON 17
    INT 12
    WIS 10
    CHA 16

I won't be investing in repair. UMD, Diplo, and Concentration ftw. I have enough cash to heal myself up.

I decided to let go of the min-max into con and cha for the 12 wisdom, simply because we're seeing more spells than just hold, like symbol of stunning.

One of the joys of going damage is you can be a lot less anal about DC values and let them slip a bit, freeing up stat points and feats for durability or whatever. The down side is damage casting is more enhancement intensive.

I think the metamagic changes make this kind of build much more viable.

I would definately go with WF for a pure damage caster.

As an aside, i have a Dorf Sorc, and the 16 CHR is just fine as a starting value. you can easily hit 28 at lvl 12 (and if you are able to get a +2 CHr tome you can hit 30)

Slowly but surely my original character, a level 14 warforged sorcerer has turned from a generalist to a damage dealer and I can tell you it is a very viable build (and has been throughout DDO's history).

Yanking this from another post I did so that ErgonomicCat can see my build:

    WIS: 6
    CHA: 16

Web, Knock, Resist Energy, Otto's Resistable Dance

Haste, Repair Serious Damage (becomes Rage when Reconstruction is obtained), Displacement, Suggestion

My biggest regret is not having an INT of 10 to keep Concentration and UMD up, but other than that this build has been my main character and I have very few issues with it. A more modern version of this build will likely not have a weapon feat and not take a warforged body feat.

The more modern version of this would be a DEX of 8, CON of 16, and INT of 12 using a 32 point build.

heh, i swear there is unintentional groupthink on the boards. i was going to go with a pure damage dealer that was 2p/12s for the saves/loh and wand use (prolly human for the extry toughness feat).

No no no no... don't go human. Go Warforged!

Then you can repair yourself nice and fast after all of that damage you bring upon yourself for blasting things into ash (or freezing them, or electrocuting them, or... whatever you do).

Besides, the extra Warforged CON basically equals your human toughness feat with +1 Fortitude attached (although paladin/sorcerer builds seldom have saves issues).

I already have a human nuker, actually. I am going to try the warforged pure nuker variant. I love my human, he is amazingly effective.

I've just started a strength based WF sorc/paly2/rog2 with a starting 13 charisma. My thinking is, because charisma will be low anyway, why chase after the higher DC's where a drow will always beat you. But with a higher con and high strength, you can self heal and produce decent melee damage inside of your own firewall.

A warforged Wiz/fighter does well, so why not compliment the sorc charisma with a paly's saves and a rogue's evasion? Obviously this has been covered in the Longblade type builds, but I think it works well with a self healing WF.

Even though you have immunity to hold?

I'm sure eventually we will be seeing the Mind Blank spell once we get the level increase, rendering will saves for many arcane builds fairly unnecessary (except for when it gets dispelled).

Doing the same thing basically. Going pal2 sorc 12 all damage spells. Will have to wait on disintegrate and reconstruct.
Will end up with 28cha and 30 con. Also will have 26 str and a 29 to hit with cleave, 24 if i throw on PA.
Standing in acid fog with 40% enh, firewall with 40% enh, and cleaving with a SOS if I get lucky should be entertaining. A stack of reconstruct scrolls for the healing.

    Spell List
    Acid Fog
    Cone of Cold/Ball Lightning
    Wall of fire/Stoneskin/ForceMissiles/Burning Blood
    Displacement/Haste/Fireball/Rage
    Resist/Blur/Scorching Ray/Melfs
    Jump/Chill Touch/magic Missile/Shocking Grasp

Wonder if burning blood, acid fog, firewall and melfs all stack. Be a nasty boss killer with some rays and fireballs thrown in. With the variety of spells, there are only a few mobs in the game I can't hit, well with spells that is

I still enjoy putting 12 wisdom on my characters when I can. The feasibility of getting wisdom to 20 can be useful (i.e. 1 cleric dragon raids, etc.)

    Aspenor,

I have not played a sorc yet and am going to try this build. May I ask what feats and spells you plan to take?
