Maybe not instadeath, but more like a high damage trap. I know I enjoy standing in Haywire Foundry when it blows. And, I can imagine quite a few Rogues that would like to test their mettle against an exploding powder magazine.

yeah this is a great idea. and it could then be used in many other quests as well.

At least add some fire effects. Also it would make sense if you took some damage if you were on the ship when it exploded.
I like the idea of putting a few firewalls on the ship when it 'explodes'. Should be easy to do and players staying on board would be burned by the firewall to simulate the damage taken from the explosion. Make it so you have to run through the firewall to get to the gangplank.
Of course a full blown explosion and watching the ship sink would be even better.

Just an addon, make the torch on the deck actually be alight. I've had newbie parties in there that can't find the torch because it is so non-descript. And, it's the only extinguished torch in the game (that I can think of).

If you can shoot them down before they get to you a bonus if you can take them half down and then meele them out bonus if you can shoot and run around like your head is cut off dispel fom grease sleet storm stop running so I can kill it!!!!!!
