Default New use for PvP teams

While playing the other day I noticed that the Raid parties and PvP parties are grouped together. After playing with it a while, I had an idea. Here is my suggestion: more than 2 teams.

I would like to have 4 teams total: red, yellow, blue, green. These teams would not be for PvP, but would instead be for organizational purposes within a raid. It could be for something as simple as designating which cleric watches which party member, or for who goes where in a quest (like the crystals in VotN 5).

To make this even more useful, there should be a chat channel for each team on the party. if you want to talk to your party, you use /p, if you want to talk to your team use /c (color). That way when someone is marked they can still talk to everyone if they do not have a mic, but still have a team-specific channel to not confuse things. (I wouldn't mind a second voice-chat channel as well).

To make this even more useful, extend the teams functionality to regular parties.

It would be nice to be able to change the order of the party members on the list so that we could sort by class, name, team or whatever.

In the mean time, I plan on using this on raids that I go on with the Red team markers and Random team. (Shirts and skins, respectively)

So, Devs, thanks for this great bonus feature. Now that you have opened the can I want more.

This sounds like a pretty good idea.

Default I tried it out, and it worked great.

Well, I got a chance to try this idea out, and man did it work great. We ran VotN 5, and it really helped organize who takes the right side and who the left. No need to call out people one at a time to make sure that they hear, with just a few checks everyone knew where they were supposed to go.

I really hope that this functionality is extended in the future to regular parties, and expanded upon for raid groups. I know that you (Turbine) didn't mean for this feature to be used in the way, but it turned out to be a GREAT tool. Thanks a lot guys!

Hmm, when one raid I was in split everyone up with the pvp teams, party chat stopped working.

    Default Buggy.

We tried this on a titan raid also, and some aspects of the game became non-responsive while people were on teams (as well as party chat not working). For example, the Warforged in the bridge puzzle rooms never became active if the person turning the puzzle pieces was on a team, and at the last mindflayer fight, the wind elevators would not fire for people on teams, leaving them stuck below until we realized what the problem was. I'm sure there are/will be other problems with using pvp teams in instances, at least at the moment.

Omg, that could be awesome too. I'd love to have that as a setting.

I can't stand when there are two people trying to do instructions in, say, The Twilight Forge only they're two separate sets of instructions.

But ideally, it would be a setting, rather than the default. And some of those other bugs sound pretty nasty.

I could still general chat (we weren't in the quest yet when I noticed it) and send tells.

    Or use guild chat...

EDIT: If I understand... voice chat is seperated in two?
