forums not working for all my accounts

Ok here is the deal… after doing a bit of flaming one day I racked up 9 points on the forums. But according to the rules I shouldn’t have gotten a ban but now if I post on the forums I can only see my posts if I am logged in with that account. Also no one else can see any of my posts. I don’t know how many people this is affecting other than me since all of my e-mails and bug reports to turbine have gone unanswered. Do you guys know this is a problem?

I've never had a character banned before, so I'm not sure exactly how that's supposed to work.

But I do remember them saying that even with the points system, they reserve the right to skip the points system, and go straight to the ban, depending on the offense.

It could be that whoever gave you the points just decided to skip the intermediate steps.

Yes, I know that. What I'm suggesting is that whoever gave you the points might have decided that you are a "repeat offender", and just decided to give you a permanent "timeout" from the forums. They have said a few times that although the points system is there, at their discretion they can escalate things, ignoring the points system.

What does your user control panel say when you open it up on that account? Is there any other information there other than the number of infraction points you've recieved?

From other posts I've read in the past, if your account did recieve a ban of some kind(temporary or otherwise) you are supposed to get an e-mail to whatever address Turbine has on file for you. Any chance you've got some turbine mail still stuck in your spam filter?

I've tried looking for posts by Scottishjason, and yes, there aren't any that are showing up anywhere. But since they wiped the majority of the forums at the time of the server merge, that doesn't help much... I was trying to see if any of your previous posts showed up anywhere from before you recieved the last set of points.

I haven't heard of a problem like this, but I've never had a character banned or anything, so I'm not sure how exactly a character ban works(Or is supposed to work).

How was it working the last time? Did you just not have access, or were your posts not showing up?

You might actually want to repost this in the customer service area of the forums. This area is usually for hardware issues, connection problems, etc... It sounds like your issue might be related to some type of forum/account flagging on Turbine's side, and this might not be the proper place for it.

But just be aware that they may tell you that this isn't a bug, but is Umm.. Working as intended.

The email sent on a ban should have informed you of the amount of points awarded.

If the account was banned you would not be able to log into the account, let alone the accounts User CP. (yes that means you can not read the PMs informing you why you have been banned)

See that’s why I don’t think its a ban. I didn’t get an e-mail stating i was banded just that I got points awarded. Also I can log in and even post but I am the one person that can see my posts and only when I am logged in as me. So I don’t think it is working as intended. it is also not very good business practices to have different rules for different people. By making a "custom" set of rules they are implying that the rules don’t matter at all. so why have them? by doing this they are saying that if an OP doesn’t like you he can ban you at any time for any reason no matter what. so why have a point system at all. Just have a bunch of renegade OPs that do what they want when they want. Not to mention I have sent many e-mails to turbine asking them about this in game, in the forums, via e-mail, and posting a bug on the bug report. None of my requests for information have been answered. not to mention what I got banned for was the same thing I am seeing may times over with other people. People complaining about how turbine handled name changes during the server merge. Now I am hoping that this is a bug and not what you are subjecting. Because if what you are saying is they way turbine is working it is just another way they are showing us that they don’t care about keeping players. Also have you noticed that this post was submitted six days ago and no one from turbine has said anything on it?

Well, actually, that's why I suggested you put it in the customer service section. This section of the forums is supposed to be the player to player section for tech related issues. They don't have anyone assigned to monitor things on a regular basis, as far as I know.
