Melee Pvp Tournament ?

Dont know how to go about getting contestants but i like the idea of us keeping each other busy with our own live events If any one would be interested leave a message here.My ideas for this would be that there would be no vorpals and no stat damagers.Straight damage.Also only buffs that would be able to be used would be clickies.Like to start entrance fee at 2000 plat to make it interesting.All mellee types are welcome.If we get 10 or more interested well talk a date.Thanks for reading and hope your interested!!

Hmmm, interesting.
I am curious about the rule of "only clickies." Why hurt paladins (DF) or rangers (bark)? For that matter, why not open it up to anyone that swings a weapon? I'm guessing the goal of the melee event is to have casters not blowing stuff up. Why not allow the battle mages and clerics in there if you change the "only clickies" rule to "no outside buffs" and "no offensive spells." That way, people are limited to what their characters can do without buffs from others, at the same time limiting it to those who swing weapons?

Well stat damagers are cheap in pvp in mho. This is a contest of damage not who can get whos str to 0 first. as for buffs other then clickies that makes more fair because everyone can have the clickie buffs not everyone can cast displacement or blur on themselves .This is all in my opinion. If it is in the game, its supposed to be used in any way or means possible to the best of a players ability.

In the end, it all comes down to personal opinions.

I do know that making too many RULES just bores ppl.

My suggestion, use the arena. Restrict classes? Fine, but that should be it in my opinion.

0 str = stat DAMAGE, so it should be allowed in a contest of DAMAGE, imo

If looking at it from this point of view, not everyone can take fighter str enhancements, or fighter tactics/dwarf tactics/warforged tactics enhancements either. Not everyone can rage to 44+ str.

Why should, for example, paladins, be hurt and not allowed to do the one thing that let's them approach other melee in DPS (Divine favor)? DF is what paladins do. Barkskin is what rangers do. Telling a ranger he's not allowed barkskin, or a paladin that he's not allowed DF, but letting everyone and anyone use any sort of clicky, is backward imho. It'd be the same as telling ftrs they aren't allowed to trip, or that they can't use their str enhancements. Doesn't seem like much of a melee tournament considering you're basically excluding 2 of the 4 main melee classes by not allowing them to do whatever it is they do.

This isnt a team pvp night . This is one on one tournement. If it was a team match then yes this would be pointless but... it has nothing to do with death match or a team.Therfore completly seperate from milli's idea .
