Marketplace vendors

Ever since the start of the auction system I've noticed that the merchant's stalls in the marketplace seem to be empty most of the time. Any chance of restocking them somehow so that those of us without thousands of plat could buy a somewhat useful magic item?

Well i wouldn't blame the AH alone. Simply put those weapons aren't worth much so alot of people just sell them in the tavern. If you're on ghallanda and in need of items like +2 swords and armor look me up. I keep some of that stuff just laying around and I would be happy to give you some.

Um... Not on Ghallanda. You might not find the best of the best there but keep looking. I have pulled a +4 Con belt off one, +15% striding boots off another. I've even seen +1 Admantine Full Plate on the level 2 armor broker.

Unfortunately you need to look during busier times. If you go shopping at 3-4AM of most US time zones you might not find anything there.

Just keep in mind. The Marketplace Tent is an Instance and it resets (ie flushes the vendors) if no one enters the instance within 5 minutes of the last vistor.

As others have mentioned I have found some nice stuff on those vendors at times, but it was just being in the right place at the right time.

Best was probably the Belt my bard found: Disease Immunity of Greater False Life rr Warforged. DC was not even close to an issue for my bard and he wears that belt pretty much 24/7...

1) The spread between what is paid at a tavern and what is paid at a broker is too small for many people to bother with so they just sell it off at the first NPC they hit rather than waste time running from broker to broker

2) The 5 minute instance thing is stupid. If turbine game a **** they would not let that instance time out or it would require a really long time out.

Just keep in mind. The Marketplace Tent is an Instance and it resets (ie flushes the vendors) if no one enters the instance within 5 minutes of the last vistor.

That really is overdue to be changed. What they should do is rather than when the instance resets everything is removed - they should have it so that all duplicate items are removed. This keeps things moving out of the economy but also keeps the vendors interesting and relevant.

If further reduction in items is needed, each time the instance resets have a certain percentage of the items that were in there from the last time disappear (be sold, shipped off elsewhere, etc).

But this still means that there would be something thta maybe is worth buying at any time of the day or night - otherwise players who play during off peak hours have a greater chance of being disadvantaged.
