PAHLEEZ *rolls eyes* I know many traders, including myself, who have no qualms with bidding against Davey. I think it's more that +5 mfp has limited value at the moment, particularly in light of your "wants."

Don't jump to conclusions . . . . For the record, Davey never, under any circumstances, scares me away from a trade in which I am interested. Furthermore, there are plenty of other traders on Argo who feel similarly.

I expect that is quite true, but instead it's the fact that the OP wont make a decision until Davey makes an offer, which in turn usually means that what is wanted in trade is going to be exceptionally high, and quite possibly above the actual value. That scares people off, probably more than who the person is.

It comes across a little bad when someone advertises something nice for sale/trade but adds in the stipulation that nothing will be decided until a certain person (who typically is know to have or offer more than most) makes their offer.

Although I would be interested in the item myself, I lost all interest when someone does this kind of thing. It's hardly an "open to all" trade when no one can can find out if they can get it until a certain person gets their chance to come in. Why is it that no one else is granted this benefit?

Seems to suggest the owner of the item intends to sell it someone in particular, and not really open to all.

I NEVER said that I was waiting until Davey made his offer. Th references to Davey were mostly made in jest becuase e was so quick to quit once he heard Davey was interested. Quite the contrary I said it was first come first serve. I told Torac to not be discouraged that Davey showed interest....he has yet to send an offer (of course there are 7 PMs in my mailbox I have yet to check). If you think that I am trying to pump up this item you are mistaken. As for making note of my "wants"...Rez rings and planar girds are worth more than +5 MFP?? Whatever...Those items are found at a set place and with enough repetition you will find them, even multiples of them. I have been playing this game since the first week it went live and I have NEVER pulled a set of +5 MFP (this one I got through a trade), so don't make references that my wants are overinflated. That is merely a guide to go by.

True, girds and rez rings are mere kickers in most higher-end trades (although they are starting to become stand alone items). I was actually referring to your two "big ticket" items on your list, w/p rapier, banishing rapier -- neither of which I would personally trade for a set of +5 mfp, esp. the w/p. I was not suggesting someone else might not or shouldn't.

It was you who was saying you weren't getting any offers, so I was merely suggesting why that might be . . . . If I thought your wants were outright off-base I simply would not have said anything -- to do so is simply not my style.
