    Default WF Night 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, etc.

Up til now, we've been posting each week about the upcoming wf night. Well, looks like it's going to be a constant thing until further notice. Watch out for LFM's going up usually about half hour before things kick off at 8:00 pm eastern.

We're likely going to have multiple groups going again for the lowbies. And of course the lowbies will kick it all off with another new twist on kick the midget.
My Videos Shadow Mage (ok, it's a build now)
A forum post should be like a skirt - long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.
Britches and Hose kidnapped my dog and are forcing him to farm Shroud ingredients.

    Default New WF

I probably won't be able to join you guys on Wednesdays because I have school on Wednesday nights, but only for now!

Can anyone recommend a good build for a "starter" WF? 28 pt tank, no uber gear to twink with, but some cash for cool stuff (not enough for vorpals or tomes tho!!!)

You don't have to get too detailed, just the basics like Barb vs Fighter, should I take a level of wiz (or sorc) for self-healing and if so, what level? How about body-type? I am guessing adamantine is best for fighting, but will that mess up repairing myself?

I have been running with more WF lately and they just look darn fun! I will have to kill off an alt, but that's OK, I have done it before

    Thanks!

    Hey, a few pointers. Take'm or leave'm.

First, if you want to be a pure tank, go fighter and stack feats. Aside from dwarves, warforged other the other premium tactician. You can trip and sunder like a god, so get those feats. Take the bastard sword or improved shield bash and every good tanking feat. You could mix it up with 2 levels of rogue for evasion and skills like balance, umd, etc -- always a handy idea. If you want to have the saving throws, go ahead and push charisma to a 12 or 14 and take 3 levels of pally to help with a total Divine Grace bonus.

Stats pretty much are the same as any other build -- the stats that work well for one race will work well for another race because they affect the class.

The biggest challenge is in deciding your body type. If you're going to even consider evasion you go with none or mithral. If you want the damage reduction, Adamantine is nice, but from experience the improved damage reductions and barbarian damage reductions do not stack with it (Hexin IV is a total failure because of this atm at level 9).

Also, consider whether you are going to be fleshie-friendly or wiz-friendly or both. There is a way to neutralize all criticals with warforged enhancements along the line, but you lose the ability to be healed by clerical healing spells, leaving your only option to arcane. If you go this path, you'll want to focus on all your damage reductions so nothing hurts you too much and you can wand-whip yourself (which will require a level in wiz/sorc or 2 spaced-out rogue levels).

That's all I've got. You can never go wrong with a pure fighter. Take adamantine if you do that. If you take rogue ranger or barbarian take mithral. If you want to be a dex-monkey and max it out, don't take a body type at all.

I'll be in with Khesbot... I am going to try to get her up to lvl 3 tonight so that she's a bit better speced for damage instead of pitiful fleshy heals!

as for a WF Tank... go pally if you want to be really last a long time, they can wand heal themselves, though it would take more, or take a level of sorc for more SP for buffs and stuff, only bad thing is that with a 28 point build they are rather limited, but the fear immunity makes them godly, and the LoH fully heals them, the aura to saves is good as well.

I must sadly inform you all that I will not be attending this evening. Looks like Wednesdays are not going to work so well for me.

So, since others have suggested it to me, I would like to also organize an all wf run that works better for those overseas (and myself). I'm thinking something like Sunday mornings.
