I know its not feasible with Losers of the coast holding death reigns on DND rights to have a opensource server/client, player sponsered and devolped dnd mmo, but was wondering if:

Turbine has shifted major resources to LOTRO, that we as players could have an open chat with them, and discuss really setting aside a large enough development team to meet the wish's of players in a faster method.

Im not sure what size that team would be, nor how much of the montly fee would be directed to do that, but would seem to be doable.

DND is a live and kicking entity outside of Turbines game, but with more advertising and word of mouth could really bring in folks.

Especially with something like a player sponsered development team with live updates on progress and so forth. Might even be some talent in the cloud, never know.

First have to get an advocate for players, legal folks also, so its all on up and up.

Turbine has created the game and engine, and is in maintenance mode.

We discuss thru advocate what resources it takes to address current issues and further development of game. Then discuss the financial necessities.

Turbine maintains the front end stuff (dnd rights, legal stuff with losers of the coast, etc).

Players advocate and players focus on keeping game going and developing.

Hundreds of players at 15 bucks a month generates a lot of cash. turbine still gets the majority to maintain the hardware/software, we just ask to redirect a portion to keep the developers going and not redirected to some other game.

Might be a wash, but a thought. Been playing DND since I was 8 years old, 40 now, and still luv it, like to see this game keep going forward and be the best it can possibly be.
