A lot of sorcs I know have over 1800, I only have 1708 on my sorcerer when wearing the black dragon robe. I have a 32 charisma. Why do i have much less?

and improved mental toughness as a feat as well
I don't need to walk on water when I know that I can run on wine.
I think Prenny has 1983? I'm pretty sure that's right.
Mental toughness, improved mental toughness, all the mana increase enhancements, level increases all in CHA, +6 CHA item, +2 CHA tome, Wizardry VI (which amounts to +300 SP for sorcs)...
All in all it's fun to say I have that much SP, but it's actually pretty unnecessary. I pretty much never run out of mana unless I'm running heighten/max constantly. Even then...
You can still be a great sorc. with the kind of SP you're talking about. It's all in how you use it.

SP is not the measure of a sorceror's power. Depending on your build and playstyle, 1700 may be more than enough.
The highest possible SP attainable is just over 2000 by a 13sorc/1bard.
wizardy 6 is not required to have over 1800

would put you at around 1858........i am at 1818 without the 4th enhancement or wiz 6

I have 1708 as well and its more then enough.
With my build, I dont envy at all those who invested everything in getting as much sp as possible.
I laughed when the devs gave us 500 more sp in one of the last patch.

Ah, i guess a lot of people took mental toughness and imp mental toughness. I have not taken either of them, and i guess most people have 34 cause they got a +2 char tome, i only have 32 atm, 33 when i get my last sorc's charisma enhancement. Thx all for replying.

If you mean "how do you figure that sp isnt a sorcs power" then I pity the group that has YOU as its caster as you probably just throw massive numbers of pseudo-effective spells :P

I would like to point out that when we were all lvl 12 prior to the gianthold everyone was running around with 1000-1200 as a sorc, and 800-900 as a wizzy. I have 1881 on Alorious and I end up shrining with hundreds of SP left....solo! So dont worry bro, its all good.
Moonrise has a smaller pool than most sorcs but i wouldnt change my feats at all as they fit my style. No MT or IMT and i dont have the last tier of the sp enhancements (i have alot of spell pen...) tho i do have a wiz 6 helm...

The Whole Thread
As shown above, sorcerors get 95 sp for going from 13 to 14. Also + 12 if they have 34 charisma instead of 32. Wizardry VII gives a pure sorc 350 spell points (2 x 175). This is a total of 457 SP at level 14.
A level 1 bard taken at level 14 gains 50 sp base, + 120 for having 34 charisma. She gains 337.5 (read, 337) for a Wizardry VII item, found by multiplying the SP a pure sorc obtains (350) by the ratio of sorceror levels to total levels (13/14). 350 x (13/14) = 337.5. The total here is 507.
The difference is 50.
Note, that the one level of bard is highly recommended to be taken at level 14 to maximize the bonus from charisma.
Props to Psi for the numbers, from the original thread.
I hope no one is stupid enough to take a lvl of bard just for a few spell points.
