I get a few here and there but they are somewhat rare. I just sell to vendors, greatcross bow seems like a wasted feat.

Your mistake was in building a character around it. That ensured they would never drop for you LOL!

BTW- can anyone tell me if it's possible to get transmuting and greater bane on a +2-3 weapon (more specificly a long bow ) I've been tryin to figure the level for transmuting, and a best guess for the combo, but cant ever seem to find a non RR transmuter (hey, my math sucks... which is why i change my dice once a month at least)

I've seen 2 such weapons on the AH, and they were exceptionally expensive. I believe one was a +2 Transmuting longsword of greater monstrous humanoid bane, and the other a +2 Transmuting <something> of greater giant bane.

As one response above me mentions this as well, I thought Transmuting was a 6 level adjustment, although I really dont know for sure aithout looking at an item and I can't log into the game where I am right now.

I got a really nice Great Crossbow that I couldn't sell on the AH. Sorry bout your luck!

Being bored out of my skull with 7 capped characters, several I've rerolled as 32pt build, I decided on my last build as a Great Crossbow specialization.
As with my other toons. I try to run everything as opposed to speed-leveling.

And after 11 levels, I have yet to get a single Great Crossbow out of a chest or as an End Reward. THAT'S RIGHT, ZERO!! NONE! NADA! NOT EVEN A PLAIN MASTERWORK GREAT CROSSBOW!!

Pardon me, but am I to understand you made a build centered on a specialty weapon without actually having those weapons lined up already?

One would have thought you'd have already known how uncommonly they dropped while leveling your other six capped chracters.

Good luck finding one, in any case. I'd suggest prowling the vendors.

llevenbaxx - I suspect that Lorien has wording out of order. There are Heavy and Light repeaters only. No such thing in DDO as a Repeating Great or Great Repeater... That would just be sick.

IIRC the DQ has a special Xbow that is damage equal to great, without the feat, but thats as far as my knowledge goes on non-repeating xbows.

DrAwkward - lots of ppl roll toons for a specific type of weapon with no "ubers" already owned. When you know that something is a frequent drop and almost always has multiple pages on the AH, why not. Money is easy to come by in DDO, so why not just buy as you need?

Luck of the draw...they drop, but as an exotic weapon they may not have the drop rate of other weapons.

You should clean up with Great Xbows at the AH. I've never met a great xbow user.

What do you want? To have the drop rate increased just for the sake of your one character? No thx.

I don't know about the OP, but in my case I assumed that all weapons had about the same drop rate.....and I though making a build around a weapon that no one used would increase my chances of getting a good one from a vendor.
I know my toons have pulled them in the past and I have seen them in the vendors.
Well, it turns out that after I built mine, it seemed they did not drop often after all.....and people apparently do not bother to sell them to vendors often if they do drop.
But I was right about getting them cheap from the AH. The one's that are there are way cheaper than comparable weapons.
