Pvp Level Restrictions

I really think PVP would be better if there were level restrictions on some of the arenas, what we have now is often a level 14 charecter bashing thru a room of level 5 or 6 charecters that could not do any signifigant damage even if they could hit the higher level charecters, often groups try to get together to fight each other and will try to hide thier activities from the higher level charecters (its sad really). What I would like to see is the different areanas having level restrictions, one of them being for levels 1-4 or so, another being for levels 3-7, another being for levels 6-9, one being for levels 8-12 and the last being a complete free for all 1-14

its possible to make certian missions unable to enter until you attain a high enough level, and its possible to make certian missions not render any xp because the level of the player is too high

I agree with you, I was just throwing some numbers out for kind of a sketchy rough draft of what I was talking about, because it seems to me that lower level toons don't want to fight higher level toons because they can't win, and higher level toons don't really want to fight lower level toons because there is no challenge to ripping them to shreds

I don't think this is an issue. Or I should say it SHOULDN'T be an issue. Tavern brawling ares should be just that, you jump in and fight, no matter what class or level your are. The Deathmatch/CTF arenas are supposed to be the ones with more restrictions (ie, specific instance, level range etc) the only problem is it's a pain to get them to work. On risia I noticed a few changes to parties that had to do with PvP but didn't actually test them out, hopefully that would fix these problems.

You could then just put an lfm up for "PvP lvls 9-11" get a group, convert to PvP and go fight

Sometimes its fun as a L4 rogue to jump in the pit and start stabbing that L14 fighter... And as they turn to look at you and stare for a while trying to figure out what you are doing (yay, got him for 2 hp on that swing) and then have them take you out in 1 swing.

There's also the special events like sharks and minows that crop up every so often that cross level lines.

I'm not big on PvP but as a previous poster said I'm ok with it being a brawling pit.

thats why you leave some of the areanas for any level, its not like they are all filled with people wanting to battle each other lately

The deathmatch arenas are supposed to be there to group by similar level range. Unfortunately the match-making system is horrible and totally useless for casual PvP.

Yeah I guess but kinda bites when a level 14th cleric by the name of (*******) cometfalls everyone and anything in pvp. no duels no nothing he just stands there and anyone trying to jump down is met with a cometfall. Oh then he gets bored and travels to like the market tavern (where a lot of lower levels try to stay) jumps down comet falls them and leaves to the other arenas.

yeah he says he owns all the arenas and we have to beg his permission to play there. yet this is not greifing for some reason. *shrugs* But I guess by most peoples thinking since he is 14th level he has every right to kill anyone cause he is higher and they are not blah blah.

No I think there should be safe areas for lower levels to play and enjoy the game without having to worry about the blocked out name above.
And for those who say Just dont pvp, again you are letting another player control what you can do. IE again sounds like greifing but ya know anything goes with Pvp :P
Not that I am bitter or anything, just tired of seeing people like this Target lower levels for their own enjoyment. FTSing them knowing they will never save. Oh and hold + level drain

As for one swing kill well someone who does like 30 to 50points of damage vs your squishie 30hp or so yeah it happens. I had 3 lowbies swing at me while standing there. I just look at them and either trip and walk away or if I think they can't take the hit.. walk away.. sure i could kill them. why bother, 2hp of damage or whatever will heal faster than them having to jump up and eat for or drink a pot
