One of my fighters will dance around in pvp. Wanna know why?
SPRING ATTACK!!! When im running around and makeing someone else run to hit me they get -4 to attack while i dont .And with a 53 -56 ac that -4 to attack sucks. Its called strategy sticking and moveing.Does my barb do it in pvp? No. Ill stand toe to toe with anyone. But he doesnt have spring attack.
A stamina bar would make no sense When some builds are based around spring attack and moveing around. It would make spring attack not worth takeing.

Not worth taking and no sense are two different concepts. Dont throw the word "sense" around like that, as if a person having unlimited stamina and being able to run forever made sense. Being able to run a lot is a different matter though.

That's just like you fleshlings, hiding behind other races when the going gets tough. Not that it will help you - with their 19 month gestation period and 30 year maturation, that will be some very sparse canon fodder. Especially when it crashes against the waves of flesh and clay golems from out modified creation forges. Constructs come in many varieties, after all. Fleshlings though only come in the inferior variety.

    Default Jumping bunnies

In brief...Pvp in this game was ab after thought so anything (like a stamina bar) that makes sense to balance for it wasn't put in and probably won't.

I Hate the jumping bunnies too, mostly cause it looks so stupid. My solution is to not pvp mostly beacause it is so poorly implemented here.

Kind of a shame really because it would add alot of fun content to the game that is basicly "player created" if there was a viable pvp system.

I know turbine is against PVP in ddo because it supposed to be a co-operative affair like the pnp game but they should re-consider.

City of heroes was wholly against PVP too, mostly because of thematic reasons (this is pre-city of villains) but like turbine added it afterwards due to an overwhelming clamor from the playerbase.

They mucked it up at first and had to re-balance some things but after a while it worked and when city of villains launched and there became full blown PVP zones instead of arena (tavern) style bouts it became fun and interesting.

I think they learned that PVE enemies would never be able to offer the challenge and spontanaeity that live players would to keep the gameplay fresh. Previously Cryptic had the same difficulties as DDO except compounded by the fact that it was a game with absolutely no loot to grind for once agian for thematic reasons.

The player base was very frustrated by the lack of content and left in droves, but recently the game, now with loot and Pvp has seen a resurgence.

Proof positive that if you make the changes that consumers request you will have a more satisfied customer base.

Recently I got a chance to play Age of Conan at Dragon con, There is a game that is a good example of an mmo game that is set up for PVP. It has a stamina bar, No hard lock targeting, directional attacks, Skill based combo's and breakers, even spellcasting cones of attack. Check it out if you are into Pvp.

If you tried to bunny hop the whole time it would make you tired and unable to cast or swing well, or hit for that matter because you had to aim spells instead of press tab and hit the button. So while you were jumping up and down like a madman (looking stupid by the way) your target was also moving rapidly across YOUR screen...Aiming became kind a like trying to film something with a video camera while running a three legged race.

Most everyone who played the game tried the jumping technique and rapidly stopped using it because it wasn't beneficial to them. Same thing would happen here if the game dev's made jumping crappy for PVP people wouldn't do it.

AND they could stop looking so stupid as an added bonus!

Remember back when they introduced PvP and swore it wouldn't impact the PvE game? Posts like the OP's are the only reason I was against PvP being introduced... sooner or later, they will listen to somebody's PvP complaint and change the game (including PvE) in response.

If you ask me, any thread requesting any game-wide change due to PvP frustration should be exploded.

I've been gone for a few months...did I miss something? Is there an actual *benefit* to engaging in PvP that they have implemented? To my understanding, PvP is good for venting frustration and proving you are the baddest of the bad. I, personally, don't engage in PvP because I think if there is no benefit to it, it is ******** and a waste of my playtime. I have nothing to prove to other players...only to the high-level monsters hoarding all the treasure. When I can loot your corpse and take your prized vorpal scimitar of disruption...you'll see me following your hoppy butt around the arena. But as of right now, you get to hold on to it...so WHO THE HECK CARES IF YOU ARE GETTING "JUMPED" IN PVP???

Gah...people whine about the most idiotic things on these forums. As someone else said, if you know what you are doing, you should still be able to hit them. The only reason they do it is because it is distracting...or if they are jumping over your head behind you, it is a good way to increase your avoidance of LOS spells. The fact that you are complaining shows your ineptitude when it comes to just keeping track of your target. You can turn around as fast as you want...you can jump around too...you can, as someone else said, use a Grease clicky. How about you spend less time whining on the forums and more time improving your tactics...oh, and take a moment to realize that *you don't get rewarded for PvP*. Your frustration is your own fault...you don't have to engage in mindless measuring of private parts...it's your *choice*.

They all have one thign in common, they all jump up and down the entire fight like they haev a hot poker shoved up their arses. It couldn't be that hard to have some type stamina bar. let's face it, if your a weakling you're not going to be able to jump up and down for a long period of time, the same holds true if you're wearing 150 lbs of armor.
SO WHAT YOUR SUGGESTING IS THAT CASTERS AND ROGUES SHOULD JUST STAND THERE AND " TAKE IT LIKE A MAN" SO TO SPEAK?

take it like a man ? spring attack builds, PvE vs PvP. Get a clue. It boils down to the simple, I want to smash buttons and tab lock my targets cause I can't use real skill. Spring attack is nice to have when moving, but jumping up and down with or without spring attack should NOT be able to happen for an extended amount of time. Ohhh, this INCLUDES PvE... So whatever all. Doesn't really matter, but don't kid yourself thinking that its normal, good or skill full to do some of this stupid stuff in either PvE or PvP.

DDO isn't PvP Proficient and it never should be!

I HATE! when people stress / whine about PvP... Run quests! Unlock 32pt! if you did every quest and have 32pt... Roll another character! If your slots are filled with 7 14's... Go outside!

If people can run from one end of the Gainthold to other and than zerg thur the whole quest. They should have the stamina to jump in place for a couple of minutes. Really if you can run full speed from mob to mob swinging a weapon the whole time, jumping around for a couple of minutes is no big deal.

Of course, and if you ever learn that, then maybe you'll be a threat.

Exploitation is why we fleshies own the world and you don't.

Also, having to rely on special facilities for procreation really hinders you, when we can, and do, procreate anywhere!
