Who else thinks Matt Hamill got robbed in the decision loss to Bisping? I definitely thought he won the decision 2 rounds to 1. Not sure what those 2 judges saw.

I don't watch UFC too much, but I saw this fight. Complete BS imo, are they trying to make Bisping into a star or something? Looks like they just gave him that win.

Here's a vid btw, if people wanna see it. http://www.mmatko.com/michael-bispin...5-fight-video/

Fights are scored by points not appearances of how much a punch hurts. One of kickboxing friends lost a fight to someone due to not punching as often. This is a game just like DDO and they have to follow the rules.

If you hit someone 20 times hard enough to make them bloody but they hit you 30 times and you never feel it - you still lose the fight because you lost to the rules. You know that if there were no rules you would be able to take someone but it's number of hits not the amount of psi behind the punches.

    I couldn't agree more.

Additionally, did they really need add insult to injury and interview Hamill after the fight?

And what is wrong with Cro Cop?!?

Well, Cro Cop did get kneed downstairs a couple of times. And I know once pretty much ends my week, so a couple of hard knees would have been devastating.

Also, in an interview today he said that he broke a rib in the first round, which would explain a lot.

Either way, it was a very disappointing performance from him.

What did you think of the whole Babalu thing? After the little of what I read about the weigh-in and the trash talk he got, I kind of sided with him. I think Heath got what he deserved, not exactly the best way to go about it... But Heath was asking for it.

Nice to have a dev casually posting in the forums. A lot of the time you guys give the appearance that you are very hesitant about communicating with us. This is nice.

Ya it is, but I'm sure someone will start complaining about it eventually. Cuz he's not dishing out all the secrets and inner workings of Turbine.

Dana made a statement about that after that said something to the effect if Babalu had a submission hold on a joint (ankle, shoulder, knee, etc) instead of a choke hold and held it, there would have been serious long term damage and Heath might not have been able to ever fight again. I think Babalu tried to make a point of hurting Heath beyond the scope of the rules. When Jens and BJ fought a couple of months ago, BJ gave up on several submissions that could have ended the match in order to beat up Jens some more. If you want to punish a guy for talking smack, do it within the rules and prove you're better than him. Holding on to a choke after the ref has called it is childish and dangerous. If Babalu isn't going to respect the ref telling him to break a hold, what other orders isn't he going to respect?

Another thing to remember, Babalu was on the undercard for this PPV and wasn't even shown as a filler fight.

At any rate, Dana and the UFC is all about the money. If Babalu puts together another impressive win streak in other organizations I'm sure he'll be back. He's a name people recognize and a draw. Plus, a UFC rematch of Babalu and Heath now advertises and sells itself.

But yeah, I think he got what he deserves. But what I'm most interested in seeing is how the whole Sean Sherk steroids thing plays out. I really like Sherk and hope it's accidental or something. Him and BJ would make an awesome rematch at 155.

Bisping is a great athlete, but as much as I like him...he did NOT win that fight. Hamill raped him from start to finish. Judges gave him the decision cause they didn't want to hear the BOOOOOOOOs from Bisping's home crowd. Total BS in my opinion...and then Bisping tells Hamill to "go back to wrestling" after the fight...I think after he watches the tape he'll realize what an a$$ he made of himself. Lost alot of respect for him there.

More disappointing then that decision was the Cro Cop fight...I love watching that guy fight but man he looked like ****. If he did break a rib that makes it a little easier to digest but I still would have liked to see him KO Kongo. Here is a question for ya...would you rather be punched by Tyson in his prime or kicked by Cro Cop??? Ouch huh?

Last but not least...Houston Alexander. One word to describe him....Violent! this guy is going to be the Light Heavyweight Champion one day.

The only thing I don't like about Dana's remarks about that fight is there was nothing said about the Ref. I think that fight went on too long as is, Heath was bleeding like a stuck pig.. He probably would have passed out from blood loss, choke or no choke. Babalu had that match won either way.

As for Sherk, it's really hard to say. I think steroids is just everywhwere in sports as is, it won't help his case that the whole Chris Benoit thing went down in the wrestling world. There's such a spotlight on steroids use right now, alot of people just want to step away from it as much as possible.

That would really depend.. are you talking Tyson with no gloves? If so, it would be a tough call. Kicks are naturally stronger as you have more leverage and muscle strength to deliver, but Tyson's punches would be just as deadly.

Does anyone else miss the old UFC - like the first 10 or so where they only had 2 rules, no rounds, no points?

Yes and no. The rounds were too long, and they would fight 3 times in a night tournament style, which led to one tired guy getting to fight Royce Gracie, who had spent the whole night fighting on his back.

I do miss Dan Sevran though, as well as Don Frye.

    YES!

The more it goes now, the more it resembles the WWF, and all that farcidity.
Unifying with Pride isn't going to help.

I don't mind having some rules added in, but the posturing and blowing hot air degrades it all, IMO.

The difference is WWE hasn't really pretended wrestling is real in like 20 years. UFC is starting to get shady with how things are going. It really became clear during the Shamrock/Ortiz fights. At the end Shamrock made remarks to Ortiz that it was nothing personal, just business. I wouldn't be surprised of Shamrock and Dana put that whole thing together just to make money.. and didn't let Ortiz in on what was really going down.

Eh, I have no doubt that the rivalries are manufactured to get more fans involved and get people supporting whomever is their favorite, but where it differs is that when it comes down to the actual fighting, it's as real as it gets. I could care less if they bring all the fake drama of the WWE in, as long as the fighting stays real.
