Fearsome is IMHO the most useful armor effect in the game.

I share this opinion. It is incredibly powerful at reducing damage taken. Even when they resist they get a -2 to hit, further increasing your effective defense, and much of the time when they fear they just stand around doing nothing because they get confused about their agro or pathing for some reason.

I rarely have to chase down monsters and when I do its fairly trivial to do so.

I said what I said because i often end up chasing down feared mobs from other people. The only time I don't have problems with this are in enclosed areas like in PoP.

Oh yeah I forgot about Pally's. A maxxed out AC barb can hit 70ish with a Pally nearby.

I was referring to the brief period between Mod 3.3 and 4 (I think) in which effects like Holy registered on glancing blows. Being surrounded by 20 mobs during that period was a THF wet dream.
