Ok, I don't mean to toot my own horn here (flame away if you wish) but I'm pretty **** good at DDO. I know every quest in the game backwards and forwards, I design killer min/max builds, and I can twitch-play with the best of them.
For those who don't know me, I'm the leader of Legion. Legion is an elite guild. Membership is obtained by invite only and we don't even consider people unless they have proven themselves to be well above average players.
Trouble is, we are TERRIBLE at training people. Those who are quick can learn everything they need to about the game by following us but if you blink, we're gone. Our people are zergers. We blaze through quests, solo puzzles, etc. Trying to learn a quest you don't know by grouping with us is likely an exercise in bafflement to the average player.
Recently, my wife began playing DDO and she just talked one of her friends into starting. I would like to show them both the ropes. That means I can't really count on my Legion buddies to help teach them. Soooo...
The idea here is that I am creating a static party that groups together at a given time every week and experiences the content, builds teamwork and gameplay skills, and basically learns the game WITHOUT zerging.
The rest of your account, do with what you will but I need one dedicated character that will be there week after week without outlevelling anyone. Think of this as a pnp group.
Time:
My wife (and her friend as well, I believe) work a rotating schedule that frequently includes weekends. She also works nights most weekdays and is usually unavailable from 12pm EST - 11:30 pm EST. This doesn't leave a lot of room to work with lol. I'm shooting for 7 AM EST - 12 PM EST Saturdays/Sundays. Probably on Saturdays to start and then we'll see if everyone can handle both days.
Edit: it's also possible that this might be a night thing. 11:30 pm EST is probably a little late for most east coasters but I suppose it would be good for pacific/mountain players (8:30/9:30 respectively). I'll have to run this by her...
Goals:
1) The main goal here is for me to teach and people to learn the game and improve their gaming skill.
2) Our group will be balanced and builds are meant to mesh well together in any group effort. We will be running every quest at least on normal and many on all three difficulties (maybe all of them, we'll see how it goes).
3) We will be taking our time. I will take the time, at first, to point out every trap, every secret door, every hidden objective, etc. As time goes on, I will purposely allow people to figure some of this stuff out for themselves so they learn. I want to teach people the quests so well that they have mastered them but I also don't want to be a giant walking spoiler ruining the first time experience for some people.
What I need:
1) I need mature, friendly individuals who are good team players and don't mind some foul language in voice chat.![]()
2) I need people that have Drow or 1750 unlocked. Now, I know what you're thinking. If people already have this much favor, they should already know the game, right? We all know how untrue this is most of the time. Drow favor is easy to achieve. My wife's character is Drow and her friend will be unlocking it before we begin. I only need ONE player that has 1750.
3) I have designed the builds I need for this group. I need people who are willing to play these builds exactly as they are designed. I have created a party build that should have no problem 6 manning every quest in the game.
4) I need people who are NOT lost causes lol. To be a top-notch player in this game, it doesn't take much more than superior video game skills, the ability to learn, and time. If you have a friend or spouse who would like to learn the game and you're willing to let them use a slot on your 400/1750 favor account, perfect! If they can't tell the difference between the left and right mouse buttons, however, this is not for them...
I need:
Human Paladin, 32 point build
Drow Bard
Drow Wizard
Drow Rogue (this toon will be VERY squishy - boring for some, especially early on - but HIGHLY effective when played with a group and will boast some of the highest rogue skills in the game)
Again, the goal here is to learn quests and successful play styles but there may be Legion invites for those who perform exceptionally well.
PM me if this is something that interests you.
