(Admin): Davtumal tells you, 'Hello, this is a Dungeons & Dragons Online Support Game Master. I am researching your issue at this time, and should be with you in a couple of moments. You can reply to my messages by typing /r and whatever message you wish to send.'

(Tell): You tell Davtumal, 'I'm in PoP on normal, and I can't see anything. On my map, I can go anywhere, through normal wall boundaries of walls'

(Tell): You tell Davtumal, 'is there any way you can spawn me back inside the room, or at the beginning of the quest w/o taking the re-entry penalty to exp?'

(Admin): Davtumal tells you, 'Are you in the party right now?

(Tell): You tell Davtumal, 'yes. they are waiting for me

(Admin): Davtumal tells you, 'Could you please provide me the name of any your party member?

(Tell): You tell Davtumal, 'Sparkling, Crocket, Keymaster, Moonshades, and Hippo is the leader

(Tell): You tell Davtumal, 'I'm back in Sorrowdusk. Is there any way I can get back inside the quest?'

(Admin): Davtumal tells you, 'Your help request is now being resolved. Any messages you send at this time will not be received by the GM who assisted you. If you need to contact us again, please submit a new help request. Thank you for contacting Dungeons and Dragons Online In-Game Support.'

We were about to fight the Marilith in Prison of the Planes and as they pulled the valve to spawn the fight, my avatar went into some other dimension. I could swing my weapons, access my inventory, and run all over the place (even through where the map indicated a wall should be), but I couldn't see anything, and no one was near me. When I pressed F2-F6 to target party members, they were out of range, but they were still getting my Paladin Aura. My screen was completely orange. I then put in for help from a GM, thinking that he would save me the trouble of logging out and back in, or recalling and re-entring the quest to save that 20% exp, but he GM that I got teleported me to my bind point (the boat at Sorrowdusk Island) w/o warning me that he was going to do that. Then he decided that he couldn't put me back into the mission, then he couldn't let me into Gianthold w/o a level 10 character, and finally he decided that I was screwed on the 20% exp. Oh, and he suggested that I post the logs here, then IMMEDIATELY closed the ticket so any tells I sent wouldn't go to him at that point. I've had FAR worse experiences with devs, and I tried to be nice to this guy in the beginning. But I was aggravated, then teleported against my will, then had to have 1 of my party members leave the quest to get me and we both lost 20% exp.

Now, the purpose of this lengthy post is not to bash the GMs, and I'm sorry if it came off that way. Everyone knows that you can't rely on GMs in DDO. It's common knowledge. But I wanted to pass the word to the Devs that this bug sucks, and as a paying customer, I'd really appreciate a little support on this issue. Have it looked at. It might not only be occurring in PoP. Lets get this taken care of.

trust me, its a known issue

like i said before, train these GMs to know senior GM things

    you ask this:

(Tell): You tell Davtumal, 'is there any way you can spawn me back inside the room, or at the beginning of the quest w/o taking the re-entry penalty to exp?'

and he responds to your question with this:

(Admin): Davtumal tells you, 'Are you in the party right now?

then he does this with out telling you or asking:

(Tell): You tell Davtumal, 'I'm back in Sorrowdusk. Is there any way I can get back inside the quest?'

    its sad indeed

I've seen it happen a few times, but only in PoP.

FYI, It seems to be caused by being in the same spot as an object that is appearing due to activating the room. Most people just stand in the middle or the back right corner to avoid it. Another place that's similar is in the GH pre-raid with the appearing rez/rest shrines just before each dragon, and I've gotten stuck inside those before without being sent to a different "area" or whatever you want to call it, and was even able to walk out of it after using /death.

hm, never thought of it that way (to the guy above me)

But it's been a reallllly long time since i've got stuck... probably like a month or so into the game my ranger got stuck inside the wall of deleras... I could run around (it was all dark, and i was shown inside the wall on my map and others)... then I got booted from the world...

When I tried to get back on, I got the dreaded "Character is still being saved" message... I then logged onto my main and submitted a ticket...

Turns out only a developer was going to be able to pull my ranger out, and that one didn't come in until like 7 the next morning...but sure enough, a little after 7 the next morning, she was out...

It stinks, bugs happen, but hey... I bet in a week you totally won't even remember about that -20% XP penalty

I was in a Tempest Spine run that went south a few hours ago...Sor'jek kept spamming heals on himself (like monsters do when they get stuck or something), and we couldn't even dent his health after putting in the three pieces. We got a "nothing can be done" response from a GM.

I actually believe him -- that is, that nothing could be done (at least without him risking his job). It would be really cool for the bugs to get fixed, but I would really like it if tech support were empowered so that they could actually help people when they have these problems. After throwing thousands of platinum and hours of time into a quest, it is incredibly disheartening to hear a GM tell you that you are simply out of luck.

To be fair, whenever I have needed a more minor issue fixed (ie, spawning the previously immobile gargoyle in Sorrowdusk) my experiences with them have been great. It seems that only the larger problems cannot be fixed -- which is very unfortunate.
