Default Mod 5 Raid Loot Request

Ok, since it did not happen in Mods 3 or 4, I will ask again. Can we please get a longbow included in the raid loot table? Something that is actually worth while?

    Thanks,
    All Rangers of Stormreach

With the exception of the SOS, none of the raid weapons are really useful or powerful items that everyone wants to use. Armor is the same way. The best weapons and armor do not come from raids at all. It is the other items that are great; tickets, belts, helms etc. It would be nice to see a raid where the end boss is a weapon collector and has a host of good weapons. Or a end boss drow mage that has collected valuable magic items for casting etc. You would think that the demon queen, with her 6 arms swinging swords would have actually had some kick but weapons, but no. She is a lawful evil queen who has one chaotic only khopesh. Apparently she also has high UMD to use it. Raid loot should make since for the quest, IMO. As for the new raid, a ghost beholder probably shouldn't have a great bow, but what do i know.

As a lvl 13-14 item it should be much better than the silver bow.It is sad that the best bow in the game is a lvl 6 item

A named bow is far, FAR overdue.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off topic, I realize, but the DQ is in fact Chaotic Evil.

On topic, yes please to a kick ass bow in the new raid.

Same goes for Princess Aurelia in PotP. Sadly, I frequently see Royal Scimitars at the broker.

Mod 5 does have a new named longbow - the Bow of the Elements (Ice). I think it's +5 icy burst or something.

    Eh, it's a start.

I would accept a blacksmith you could take the Element Bows too... and he'd combine them.

A Bow of the Elements (ice & air) would be pretty cool. Especially if they added Fire and Acid later on.

Yeah, I read about that one. +4 Icy Burst of Precision, IIRC. So, for rangers the precision on it is useless, making it a +4 Icy Burst bow. Blah, stuff like that drops out of regular loot chests. I know you said it's a start but it's more like a false start.

its still good for multiclassed rangers who dont have precision yet cause of said Multiclassing.

You know? That would be a very cool fix for the Tortured Livewood Bow. Simply upgrade it from Melf's 2d4 acid to Burning Blood 1d8 fire and 1d8 acid. Still not a top contender for damage output, but at least not bottom of the list.

There is another named bow - The Tortured Wood Bow - +5 acid + 2 extra rounds of acid damage. It drops in the GH preraid. My wizzy has it and it is nice. But I agree that there is a dearth of good bows. Seems like a lot of exotic weapons are common in this setting. I never played in the Eberron setting, so this may be normal.

Wonder how common monk weapons will be when they get added?

No whining, unless you're serving really good cheese. Otherwise, put a cork in it.

+4 icyburst is not good? How many melees would love to have a+4 icy burst of there weapon type. The best weapon in the game are such. A +4 icy Burst khopesh would be worth a mint. What more do you want. For it to have a 18-20 crit range as well?
