Much worse was "sit around for 20+ minutes waiting to heal to full, and then pass the ring off to the next injured party member for another 20+ minute afk". There's no way we wanted to see that become "normal", or worse "required".

I doubt it will ever make a reappearance in its original form due to the problems outlined above. It was sort of neat though, as if you were only down a handful hp, you could tell the cleric "Don't bother topping me off, I'll heal as we run through the dungeon".

    You might be surprised.

I guess "to avoid w8ing for the regen to become required" is a good reason to take it out. Really I thought it was just to darn slow
to be called troll ring...more like ring of lesser regeneration. By any name it sukd. Any group worth its AC would just recall......in the age of zerging whos gunna w8 so long.

I wouldnt totally trash the idea tho. Lesser ring of regen = 1hp/60secs - ring of regen = 1hp/30secs - improved ring of regen = 1hp/15secs - greater ring of regen = 1hp/6secs and the troll ring 3hp/6secs

Make it binding....make it exclusive.....make it a clicky with 1-5 charges that last for 5-10 mins maybe. could use some work and balancing but its useful.

So ... does this mean the Troll's Ring might be back sometime soon?
You're forgetting one thing, though. I've lost count of the number of times I've been incapped - stable or not - and had a monster walk up and coup de grace me. Just because you're stable and recovering doesn't mean you're SAFE.

That (Passing the ring off) can be solved by having the ring "Bound"

    On THAT I Agree!

I have seen monsters camped out over me as I lay there 'stabilized' as the Party re-entered,
only to have the Monster Coup De grace me as soon as the party arrived!
