Some small(but big) changes

If theres one thing the annoys me to no end its swapping characters. I have 5 characters(and I know some people would have more) bu evreytime I log on I have to go on each character and check mail and auctions, Which takes like 10 minutes.

I think that the auction house should be account based, So I can see and manage items and bids from different characters on my account. I also think mail should be the same way( so if somebody sends mail to character c and I am on character f I can check the mail) I would even go as far as putting a bank slot that is shared through out the account.

Another thing that really annoys me is having to log on character B to look at the LFM the log of him and go onto to character E to join that group. I think the LFM should be available on the characters selecting screen so I can exactly what groups are forming and pick the character that I want with that information.

I realize that completely redoing the way mail and the auction house is done is pretty big and redoing the character select screen is also quite large and that there are lots of other important things that you need to do but I really think this would make playing the game allot easier. I hate 10 percent of my time just changing characters!

No way man- didn't you see the /death thread? Hosin that up was waaaaay more important than spending time implementing things that would be convenient for us.

A friend of mine was recently griping about this same problem but he took it a step farther. He was hoping for a way to check inventory or Auctions without being logged in, such as from the site here. Alas Ive never really had the problem you do since I have only 2 characters, but I can sympathize with the need to make bank and mail management easier

Auction house: nice idea but won't work. Posting requires access to a character's inventory. Bidding requires access to a character's money. A character, not the whole account's combined wealth. What if the game siphoned money off one character and you wanted it siphoned off another? It'd happen.

Bank space...yeah, I could see where it would be very handy to have a tab of the bank that all the characters on the account shared...but since we can mail items between characters for a very tiny fee (it is, really...I use it all the time) I don't think it's worth changing.

Social panel would be nice to get to without having to log all the way in, sometimes I log on just long enough to see if my friends are on. If they aren't and I don't feel like PUGging, I'll turn around and log off. For that matter, being able to see a character's inventory and character sheet panels while on the character selection screen would be very handy as well. Many have been the times I logged in to a character to check what a particular stat was or if I'd already transferred a particular item, or to see what boost a particular character had on a particular stat already.

I agree it would be nice to see the LFM panel on login screen.

As far as auctions are concerned.. I personally do all my auctions on one single character. It costs me extra mail fees to send items around, but I find it much easier to manage.

Oooooo. I gotta say, I REALLY like that idea. There are some obvious stumbling blocks though. But it leads me to the thought that *maybe* a "valet" character would be an interesting approach. A valet would be able to...

-Enter the world
-Interact with the community (send tells, guild chat, etc)
-Interact with the Auction house, mail system, etc.

But would not

-Be able to enter quest or adventure zones. Gain xp, or any such thing.

*AND*

Could log out as if he were in a tavern (to speed up character switching) or maybe even switch directly to another character.

I don't know, just a thought. Maybe it isn't a good one, but...

You're much more likely to see the ability to view inventory, mail, and lfm's from the character selection screen than any combined character activity.

It just seems much more plausible.

It would make inventory management a hell of a lot simpler without taxing the game servers nearly as much. Half the time I'm in giant hold, it's to move things from mail to bank and to sell things that have been cluttering up.

Seems like a move that might have some good affects.

OMG an account bank would be incredible. I have no idea what I own anymore. I have traded for end game items only to find out I had one or two and need the thing I traded back lol.

I have 2 accounts and soooo many chars now that even if I know I own something, I will still check the AH for the item before I start looking for it. It's just to much work.

Actually, that's a great idea and a perfect favor reward for something like 1200 favor.

Mmmmmm someone took their vitamin B this morning. You upset over this change has nothing to do with the OP.

To the OP, the Social panel from the login screen is pretty cool. I could go for that. But the auction house from all chars?? Can't see it. Can't see a separate bank accessible to all toons either. Not worth the effort.
