    Default Warchanter Substitutions

According to ddo.com, you have to have a Weapon Focus feat as a pre-req to get Warchanter. IMO WF is pretty low on the list of effective combat feats. Power Attack, Improved Critical or a level of fighter or barb all seem to be pretty good substitutes for the WF pre-req.

Warchanter actually requires Power Attack AND Weapon Focus.

And yes, Martial Weapons proficiency (any full BAB class) would do nicely as an alternative prereq. Spellsinger allows for Magical Training (primary spellcaster) as a prereq. Warchanter should allow the same concession.

    Requires one of:
    WF: Bludgeoning
    WF: Slashing
    WF: Piercing
    WF: Ranged
    Martial Weapon Proficiency

Fixt... It should work like Spellsinger, which only requires a metamagic feat if you don't have a level of caster. If you take a level of Ranger/ Barb/ Fighter you shouldn't need to take WF.
    Khalzad - TWF Dwarf Barbarian
    Aubergine - Warforged Tactical Warchanter
Malakyte - Mark of the Sentinel Human "True" Tank

Fixed that for you. By default Bards have some martial weapon proficiencies, so it would need to explicitly require the "All" version from the suggested classes.

Good catch Karethon, because both Bards, Rogues, and Elf/Drow get some martial weapon proficiencies.

An interesting note on that: Rogues get 3 martial weapons, but Dwarven Rogues get Dwarven Axe. Apparently, a few martial weapons is enough. I assume the same applies to Dwarven Bards (but neglected to check mine before taking a Fighter level).
Dwarven Ax is Exotic not Martial and I thought all Dwarves got it regardless of class.

That claim was in error (not originally made by me), so I deleted it.

But, no. Dwarves need 'Martial Weapon Proficiency:All' to get 'Exotic: Dwarven Axe' for free. Dwarven Clerics, Wizards, Sorcerors, Bards, Rogues do not get it unless they multiclass or spend a feat.
