I have multiple accounts and often let one go idle for a few months.
I have never had any problems but when i let my most recent account go idle i recieved a notice saying the characters "may" be erased on this idle account at some time in the future.
What gives? this is a new statement i have never seen before.
if this ever happened to one of my accounts i would cancel all of my accounts, and Turbine will never see any money from me again in any form, and i would encourage all my friends, enemies and people i meet in any other game to do the same.
Are you people NUTS?

a few MMO's do this though rarely do they ever actually erase them, its just a disclamer, they are rarely actually done.

Just a disclaimer in case it happens in the future. Don't think it has happened to anyone yet. If it did it would more likely be on the accounts that have been dead 12 months+ to free up some names.
A friend will bail you out of jail.
A mate will be sitting in there beside you saying "**** that was awsome!!!"
