Wow, you sure want a rapier no doubt! You're definitely offering a very nice package imho... Tho I admit rapiers have a slightly better crit range, I wouldn't even trade your w/p hvy rptr one on one for a rapier

It sure depends of the kinda toons/builds you're playing of course, but as an owner of 3 w/p repeaters, I can assure you they freakin rocks! You can take down about anything before it even realize it should try to kill you

Imho, a 17-20 crit range on range weapons will always be better than a 15-20 crit range on melee. You will kill your targets a bit slower only 10% of the time... the remaining 90%, you'll kill as fast! While with a rapier your ennemies are in your face and always have a chance to hit you, with this repeater you,ve very near the 100% to never get hit They rarely even have a chance to close on you alive...

Well, all this to say, if you have ever tried a very nice repeater build and you didn't like that, this is of course your decision and no one can argue with you. However if you've never tried one, you might not be aware of the jewel you got in your hands Especially as w/p repeater are MUCH more rare than rapiers version...

If you don't care at all about repeaters, then good luck with the rapier you're looking for, you're certainly offering more than enough and deserve to find one

It's not even close. Got an awesome player in my guild with a barb repeater build that uses a w/p repeater. He's pretty insane and my repeater was definately an awesome weapon. Trouble is, no ranged build can compete with melee regardless of weapons. My ranger with dual w/p rapiers and 7 attacks per round will outkill any 2 repeater builds put together hands down. Ranged builds are really fun (I happen to think I built the best one possible for my brother) but, sadly, ranged is gimped in this game.

As far as value, I would easily trade 3 repeaters for a rapier and consider myself lucky. You are correct that w/p repeaters are more rare than rapiers, but rapiers are so much more deadly that everyone wants one and most people aren't willing to part with one. Demand beats out supply for determining value in this instance...

If you compare to dual wielding, no doubt nothing else is close, only a fool would argue with that fact I was referring to one versus one of course... What I consider "better" is that with a repeater, you never give anything a chance to hit you, which isn't the case of any melee weapons. But here again, it all depend of your playstyle and what each one of us prefer to play

But like you said, range is gimped. They screwed range in MOD3 release and almost one year later, they still don't care about it, it seems... otherwise it *might* be different.

And yeah, one for one a w/p heavy repeater will probably pwn a single rapier, especially on a barb build with crit rage.

My ranger has been dual wielding a w/p rapier/dagger for over a year...this is finally number 2. Was just playing with her out in the wilderness and it's even more stupid than I thought it was going to be...huge difference over rapier/dagger...
