Ummm.... i'm not sure I understand rikori2's comment. Are you saying that because Dungeons and Dragons 4th edition doesn't plan on prestige classes that DDO (a 3.5ed game) will not implement them? Not to mention the fact that 4th ed is still a year away? They are 2 seperate games, all together.
Also, the whole issue with 4.0 not having prestige classes is a *GOOD* thing. They've increased the levels to 30 and they've stated that they allow you to customize your character far more then you were able to before. There is a lot of speculation that they are going to use a feat tree system like d20 Modern which is far better, imo. Prestige classes were a way for people to do new different things. If what everyone is thinking is true about feat trees, they can simply accomplish this by adding new trees or leaves (feats) to the branches. Really, if you can loose the shackle of 'classes' and just be able to define you character by the way you build him, then prestige classes are irrelevant.
