    Default Bloodstone vs Kardins Eye

Are these similar in value, and if so, I got a bloodstone if anyone would trade me an Eye for it.

True the eye is rarer, but the bloodstone is unique. Its the only non-weapon to give a bonus to crit accuracy and damage, while the eye is a measely +1 resistance over the plentiful +4 resist cloak (or slightly more rare ring).

Well technically the DQ chainmail also gives seeker +6.

Technically I dare YOU to make an argument in favor of the DQ chainmail instead of the Bloodstone :P

But point taken. Its the only non-weapon, non-armour seeker item.

Oh no I agree the DQ chain stinks. I was just nitpicking a bit.

The +1 resistance is nice but for me what makes the eye a highly sought after item is the location where that resistance is going... I tend to look at cloaks as a location for swapping out greater elemental resistances and rings as a location for Stat, AC, or heavy fort buffs depending on what gear a player has available.

I don't know why this was even brought up because everyone knows that Gilk's Bangle is much more rare and valuable.

the slot makes all the difference, i was so pumped when i got the eye because it free up my cloak slot for elemental resists. and with my heavy fort ring was able to put +5 protect neckless on. so IMO the eye is worth much more than the bloodstone.

I think it all depends on the character. With my Ranger I'd rather have the Bloodstone as I have a +4 resistance cloak and can cast all the resists I need. This is the same for my Pally. With my fighter, that's a tough call because the Seeker is a nice item to have on a trinket slot, probably would be nice to have both to swap out when needed.

Between the two, Kardin's eye is probably more valuable since it is the more rare of the two items.

It all depends on the build, if a character only fails save checks on a 1, then I would think he'd rather have the bloodstone to increase his dps. If you are after maximum dps, then again you would want a bloodstone/+4 resist combo over a Kardin's eye. If you have the Jerky, you would want neither, as trinket is a great spot for GFL.

There are many reasons why a bloodstone would be more appealing to a build than a Kardin's Eye, but when that's not the case, then the Eye is one of the ultimate items for tightening up your defenses.

That being said, value-wise the Eye gets more favor, as there are many more people who would rather have higher saves than people who would rather do more damage (as seen by the market). Me personally? I just like to have lots of both of them for trade-bait!
