    Default Doom???? Gloom!!!!!!!

Okay, I'm not of those people that complains about everything. I love DDO. And while I don't see Dooooooooom around every corner like a lot of people, I do see the Glooooooooom!

What's this Gloom I speak of??? Why the *expletive* does it have to rain every day in game?!?!?! I swear every day when I'm logged on it's raining at some point. PLEASE, adjust it so it's not every day that it rains...it's so depressing not to mention it creates more lag.

Thank you for letting me vent...

    It's Stormreach, geddit? Storm...nevermind.

If you want your sunny skies go have a picnic in the cerulean hills.

Maybe some solid fog or sleet storms would make a nice change....

Oh I 'geddit'...but it seems more like MONSOONreach or RAINFORESTreach instead...

I've tried the picnic thing in the Cerulean Hills and instead of ants, bugbear bards and skeles kept ruining them.

Yes! More weather effects. I like the idea of fog or wind that would push your character (not too much)

That sounds like fun, but there are some places in Stormreach where that could be VERY dangerous to your non-Featherfalling character.

If it didn't rain the dwarves would simpy stink the place up way quicker. The rain is their only source of hygene for crying out loud.

I'm guessing you've never left your temperate zone climate and ventured to a tropical jungle climate. News flash...it rains every day in climates like that. Guess where Stormreach is situated...tropical jungle climate.

    Hope you brought your poncho.

Actually, I live in Canberra in Australia ... its about 300km south west of Sydney and is the nation's capital in the same way DC is in the US.

It seldom rains anymore in Canberra - our dam storage has fallen to 40% and we are in sever drought. I do not wish to get into a debate about global warming and am not allocating blame .... but the simple fact is it does not rain much anymore.

Sometime I just stand around in the marketplace or where ever it is raining and listen to the sound of the rain .... its as good as it gets for us. And it is soothing and relaxing .... so I disagree with the OP - leave it as it is please.

How about a good snow/ice storm at the top of the stairs leading to the Leaky Dinghy? Could be a time to break out the screenshot fingers.
After fighting for years with community leaders whether or not Dungeons and Dragons is the work of Satan, I care very little how closely this game does or does not play like another game that you like. In fact, without D&D your other game would more than likely not exist. This is DDO. Play it, enjoy it or move along.

    Default How about Hail?

A nice hail storm will send people scambling for cover when they get pummeled by the falling ice...and imagine the view. An entire courtyard filled with lvl 1-2 corpses...

Riiiiiiiiiiight, oh yeah I forgot that DDO was based in reality and that Xen'drik was actually our Earth...

In your so called tropical jungle climates I always see dragons flying around and elves, dwarves and humans working cooperatively to defeat monsters like the often seen beholder...

Well, I'm off to work, I'll be teleporting there and I sure hope that I pass my UMD check...

Strange looks to me like a few hundred miles south(My guess on Mileage) there is a frozen Area
    Xendrik

Stormreach is at the top or the map.

Right.. It's like a South America that's connected to Antarctica. The north end is the tropical rainforest, and it gets colder and drier as you head south. And I'm assuming it's 000s of miles tall, not 00s. (i.e. a real continent)

I was reading a book set in Xendrik, and the protagonists took a boat from Stormreach to the north end of Menechtarun and it took 2 months. - or 4 - I can't remember whether 4 was one-way or round-trip.

That doesn't sound like a few hundred miles. It sounds like a few thousand.

It really depends on how big the world is since the continent does stretch from just north of the equator to the south pole.

My guess is the dotted line is the equator. Stormreach is pretty dang close to it

Edit: By "My guess" I mean "Its labeled on the map" and by "pretty dang close" I mean "straddling it like a 5 dollar...err nm"
