With disconnecting happening more than ever now, the titan raid is becoming very frustrating with the colored crystals disappearing on DC.

We had 5 DC's while running first puzzle had a few they had to rezz run the tunnels. If there is a way to keep crystals when coming back from a DC it'd be great.

We had the never appearing crystal happen the other night.
I know it was taken. I did not walk away from the dialog text, I did the same thing I've done the fifty other times I've done Twilight Forge and successfully gotten a crystal of the appropriate color.
Additionally, both crystals were pitch black indicating that all twelve had in fact been picked up.
So when I check my inventory to make sure, it's not there.
Oh well. I'm capped and my ranger has afterburners with his Gyroscopic Boots, Haste, and sprint boost. I can handle a death.
Yeah, it happens very infrequently but more often it is a product of someone not paying attention than it being a product of a true issue.
Even still, I'll sacrifice an occasional death just to expedite movement through the quest if it means the Dev's are putting out new content every month.
Nothing is ever going to be 100% perfect, 100% of the time. If you think it is, you're living in a fantasy world.

As for losing the crystal on DC, yes, this is pretty annoying. I could understand the player losing the crystal if they left the quest on DC, but they haven't actually left the quest if they're still in the party. When they return from link-dead land, they're still in the quest in the same spot they were when the disconnect happened.
The problem is, I have no suggestion on how to fix this. Unless I miss my guess, the crystal's properties are set similar to the orbs in Prison of the Planes, so that if you disconnect, they automatically drop to the floor so as not to inhibit the party's progress should you fail to return due to whatever reason. The problem here lies in the fact that they disintigrate when they hit the floor. You disconnect, crystal auto-drops, crystal disappears. I'm not sure that changing the properties so they don't disintigrate would work as it may very possibly unbalance the quest making it possible to pass crystals around.
What is the suggested fix to this issue? Do we contact a DM and wait the prerequisite amount of time for a response? Do we recall everyone out, break party, reform, and pray it doesn't happen again? Or do we just cowboy up, tell the player "Sorry you dc'd. You're gonna have to eat a death" and drive on with the quest.
I know which one I'd choose.

What is even worse is that when you actually get through all of the frustration with the crystals that you all speak of (I have never had this happen except when someone drops group with crystals), only to find the Titan quest itself is incompletable.
I have found out of 20+ successful Titan runs and 7-8 unsuccessful runs, is that the Titan is a very buggy quest.
I have been fortunate enough to knock the titan with 6 pillars and 6 lasers many times only for his shield to remain active. I even contacted devs about this several times to get sorry, but the last 1-2 hours you spent getting this far were a complete waste of time and resources because "this is a known issue" "this ticket has now been ended".
Or on one or more occasions the top shield doesn't go down where you get the crystals, and then his shield never goes down with 8 pillar and 8 laser hits.
The quest is buggy, very buggy. It has been for a long time. The devs know it, and they probably will not fix it. What do you expect with a quest that has been nerfed soo many times.
The most successful runs I ever had were the old version using grease and comet fall, but we don't have to worry about that anymore.
All I can say to the devs is stop nerfing everything to make it impossible to complete.
Proud member of the DDO Non-Nerfing Union.
Prinstoni, in my 20+ runs, I've never had him bug.
I've had the barriers to the chests not drop, but all that requires is a DD to get to them.
Either you're very unlucky, I'm very lucky, or you may not be taking the proper steps to make sure the Titan is actually hit by the laser.
I can't say for sure. I've never been in a group that failed the quest. So maybe it is bugged, but I've never seen it happen.

THere have been postings on this before(the shield not going down) and it seems as if the crystal runner should stay as far away from the titan as possible as the crystals seemed to be healing the titan(meaning you needed to hit him an extra time before his shields went down).
I have never in any of my 30-40 runs of the titan seen him take more then 6 hits.
Id say THe groups im in have only failed 2-4 times, because of Pillars being destroyed before hand by accident(when the titan could destroy them himself), or by a party wipe at the beginning while trying to get the titans shields up, or a wipe at the end.

Well I think it most often happens when you do the laser from the sides instead of the middle. I had 15 consective successful runs on different characters, and then 3 bugs in a row on my ranger.
I still run him a lot but lately (maybe it is the group mistake), but we will have him down right on target and we don't get credit for the hit. Or we do get credit for the hit, and it takes 7 pillar/lasers to get his shield down.
If the devs have said to me it is a known issue, then I would assume that I am not the only one who has had this happen.
Anyway. I wish you were on Thelanis. I would love for you to be there when it happens. (of course you could be very lucky, like you said, and it wouldn't happen).
Cheers mate...
Odd, I run the laser down the sides and it works fine.
And, apparently, if the crystal runner below gets too close to the Titan, it's possible for the lasers to heal him, requiring another shot from the laser to take down his shields. I've never seen it happen, but there have been several reports on it.
*shrug*
