It's time for another one of those silly thingy-ma-bobers I do called "Concerts."

For our new residents, recently displaced from their homeworlds my Concerts are really just opportunities for you to hang out and read the lyrics I copy paste into general chat... Strange, but enjoyable.


Music will start at approximately 8pm EST @ the House Phiarlan Stage (Across from Vestrii's Arms -> enter from Marketplace & follow the left path, stage will be on the right before you go uphill.)

I have a couple songs specifically in mind, but if you would like a special request please either PM me or reply to this thread in advance to the concert... It's easier for me that way.

Oh, and one final, crucial point... absolutely no freebird... anyone who requests freebird shall be shunned... forever.

Question for ya...Will they be original lyrics, or just something gleaned from pop culture?

I'm asking this because I was witness to a bard doing his thing at the Phoenix tavern, pre-merge...all original stuff, and was damned funny. I wanted to go out questing, but I was sucked into it, despite myself. If it will be anything like what that bard was blasting in General Chat, I just might stop by for a couple of laughs.

To my fellow refugees: I know it sounds a bit corny, but some of the stuff that I've witnessed in passing is actually quite clever. Even if you think it doesn't sound the least bit interesting, you might be surprised. This guy (girl?) had me in stitches, I was laughing so hard. Good stuff.

quite likely that was the musicman. If I recall, he had a concert not too long before the server merge... and it was in the phoenix, too...

For the most part, my concerts are all just stuff from the culture, & original artists are, of course, given credit. Though I do have some original stuff, though I usually save 'em for BotB... plus, being rather picky about linguistic acrobatics I find myself consistenly unprepared to share my originals even though they are formidible lyrics -- I was thinking I should prepare something original though... & I've also been working on another parody I was thinking to finish.


A bit before merge, I had hosted a split concert between Musicman & Axyl Rose the Reinvented at the Phoenix Tavern... I didn't do any originals, but Axyl did share "Welcome to the Dungeon," which is an enjoyable parody. To my knowledge I'm the only one who does performances, so it probably was me -- but I wouldn't be suprised if there are others who share the stage... we do afterall have some very talented bards on this server -- not just slacker ones like yours truly here.

& Yes I will be the first to admit it sounds rather corny, and yes at times I feel rather corny... nevertheless it must be enjoyable because people keep coming back! & there seems to be more of them each time...

... though the purpose behind this one is kinda to introduce some of you new folks to the medium through which BotB (Battle of the Bards) is conducted since there will be another one coming up eventually...

If you're interested in competeing in the upcoming but TBA Battle of the Bards, I recommend you stop by for a little bit just to get an idea how it's done & get some inspiration.

& If not, you should come have a little fun...
