    Default Maximize Spell

Any chance that maximize spell will ever do what it is written to do in PnP? That is maximize the die effects of damaging spells? And how about applying SR to all spells cast instead of just non-damaging spells?

Doubt it on either case. They have stated in the past that designers didn't like SR so it became just for non-damaging spells.

We already have adjusted damage dice for spells. Instead of 10-60 for 10th level Fireball, it's 40-60. So, in essence we're partially-maximized already. Then by using DDO's Maximize metamagic, damage is doubled to 80-120.

In a game where mobs hitpoints are massive compared to what they are in PnP, adjusting the metamagic feats to do less damage then they do now seems like a bad idea.

A maximized fireball using PnP rules in a PnP game is a very potent force that usually changes the course of the battle. If you used a PnP maximized fireball in DDO, it would do very little except draw some aggro. (as it stands now even the modified rules for maximize somtimes don't even cut it.)
