    Default A plea to Clerics

Please, please, PLEASE don't heal my WF battlemage. Seriously. Especially after I take the time to send you a PM to the effect of:

"Hey dont waste your SP or wands on me, Ive got over 1300sp to keep myself up. Just rez me if I happen to die"

Usually what seems to happen is that I get to 85% health, and i start hearing the cure serious wands zapping me for 8pts of healing at a time. Personally I get annoyed because I think of all the plat or sp the healer is wasting on this poor WF, when he could be saving it for the fleshbags..err i mean non-WF.

What usually ends up happening is that instead of waiting till Im at 100hp or so and casting a cheap 35sp reconstruction, I spend three times the mana (over the course of a quest) using repair mod just to get the healer to stop wand whipping me. Or I have to use MY wands :P

I know, its hard to keep from filling my health bar when it drops below 90%, but make the effort. Your WF will thank you, your fleshy tanks will be happy to soak up your extra spell points, and I everyone prospers

Seriously, its to the point that I was going to switch in the improved fort feat, but unfortunately I only had a bab of +5 at lvl 12, and you need +6 :P

    Completely agree with Lithic.

My Battlemage Needs no heals. Just the occasional rez. I tried posting a barb healing post sorta like this but saying dont use cure serious spells just drop a full heal - dont care if i run around topped off. Bah. They will learn.

I can't believe I'm actually going to type this, but I agree with Madmardigan.

Seriously, that's me. Soon as I see a bar drop during combat, I react. Yeah, I'm an overhealer. I can't help it. I've had people ask me not to heal them, and all I say is, "I'll try not to, but I'll probably do it anyway."

If I group with your WF, I'll do my best Lithic. But I make no guarantees!

Heard that before, usually right before I get spammed with "CLERICX's Cure Serious Wounds has healed you for 4 pts of damge" hehe.

You know the worst part? 2 days ago I finally got our PUG group's cleric to let me drop below 90%. Im just about to hit reconstruction and the RANGER (dang him) starts using his CSW wand on me lol. Guess he thought the cleric was being negligent hehe.

I'd rather listen to this complaint than "you let me die ... waaaaa" Seriously though in the heat of battle clerics don't analyze each character as the health bars drop.. we react because some characters are only a crit away from being smoked at 85%... some people still dont use heavy or even moderate fort....

Between battles you have a valid argument...

To an extent I see both sides here with valid points.

However, with some of the clerics I've partied, there are the players capable of remembering where the warforged lifebars are located in the 6-12 persons on their screen. Since the easiest target are these bars instead of fishing for a player, it seems relatively simple for anyone to not heal the warforged players that have requested no-healing by remembering their names/locations on the lifebars. I'm not bashing anyone that can't do this, but I have met players that can do this efficiently and without missing a beat (or heal) at the proper moment.

It's to the party's benefit if the caster can operate with diverse healing strategies, imo, so that every sp counts. Hurray for the self-sufficient healers.

I get the same thing all the time. What ever happened to the days when clerics refused to heal even warforged who took healers friend, nevermind the ones who didnt.

I hate to be a jerk about it, but if you don't want to be healed by clerics, don't group with a cleric?

Lithic, I know what you're saying. I know when I heal WF, that I'm not doing a full heal. But wasting wands and sp doesn't bother me. Seriously. What bothers me more is not seeing full health bars.

Like Al said, I hardly ever wand whip WF at least. I usually just toss a heal scroll on em. In, fact, it's getting to the point to where I usually just drop heal scrolls on most tanks instead of carrying cure serious wands, seeing as how tons of tanks are walking around with 300-450 hp.

That answer only works when they're all warforged. The other natural-born souls of the party will likely want a cleric. Lithic's point is that some warforged are designed to save the cleric's spell points for other needs, whether it be fighting, buffing or healing fleshlings. This warforged design is also ironically a result in part by the very same clerics (and warforged-blacklisting guilds) that once upon a time refused to heal warforged or party with them due to their healing-resistant propeties.

You obviously don't group with TF much Kistilan. I only see a cleric in their parties about 30% of the time, fleshies or no.

Actually, I've always been kind of squeamish about grouping without a cleric, and they've kind of made me see that we rely on them too much, when half the time we don't even need them. So, see TF? Even though you are responsible for everything wrong in the world, you've done a *few* things right.

No I don't group with them.

I also don't rely on clerics. Thet heals himself. Just like those warforged.

And in retrospect, doesn't this post and your last post back-up exactly what I just posted?

It's like arguing, but not, because we agree, but we don't want to, so we argue, but it's not.
