Default What else is out there?

After reading through the book the Wizards of the Coast published regarding the Xen'drik Campaign Setting, I have to wonder when the developers will add other Xen'drik cities to the game. Specifically, Sharn, the City of Towers. And, it would be nice if there was an outdoor adventure area connecting Stormreach to Sharn, too. It seems to me that there's a lot of potential for expansion of DDO, that, I'm sure, many of us are still biting our nails in expectation of.

Anyway, if any of the developers could comment, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

My guess would be that if such a thing ever happens that it will be an bought expansion, not a free module. Something like that is way beyond the scope of a module, and would require alot more work and effort to accomplish, therefore suggesting the idea that it would need to be purchased, not given for free. With the server merge and somewhat low population for this kind of game, that idea may be a long ways off until Turbine decides it's a viable effort to risk financially. We really need to up our subscription numbers and get some more advertising out there to make that idea plausible. Still this is just all my thinking on the matter. Where Turbine stands is anyone's guess.

I would think though if you want it done right, similar to Stormreach in size, it isnt going to happen in a module...it's much too big for that. If it happens in a module it will be extremely small and probably not well accepted for what it should be.

Sharn and Stormreach are not physically connect. Pretty much the only city we would be welcome in on Xen'drik is Stormreach.

While I would love to see Sharn in this game, I would rather explore more of Xen'drik first. So no trips to the main land yet, least for me.

    Default Oops!

I stand corrected. I confused the city of Sharn with another city that's supposed to exist on the continent of Xen'drik. I'll have to go back to my book to find the right name. What I do recall of it, though, is that it's a city that floats on a couple of magically suspended chunks of rock. The image that sticks in my mind are some adventurer's riding flying beasts up to the city, floating above a wide, forrested plain.

At any rate, the purpose of my post was to find out if the developers ever intend to add any more cities to the game. I like Stormreach a lot, but I also believe there's a lot of potential to the addition of other destinations along the Xen'drik frontier. And, having one or more adventure areas to connect the scattered cities along the continent might make getting there more interesting, too.

I would love to discover a new city somewhere in the wilds of Xendrick. It would be nice to have a huge outdoor area to explore, ranging all the levels, from 1-14, with areas to avoid at low levels, and an entrance to another, even if smaller, city.

    Cool No, Stay!

All this talk of leaving for another city comes just after I purchased the 7-11 franchise rights for the Marketplace. If you stay, I'll give you 10% off all Slurpees.

Well, at least one of the 7-Eleven stores in my city has been turned into a Quick-E Mart...

So, as soon as I got home, I opened my copy of the book, "Secrets of Xen'drik", by Keith Baker, Jason Bulmahn and Amber Scott. They reference the city of Dar Qat and the settlements of Last Chance, Tal Esk and Zantashk. And according to the map of Xen'drik they've provided, there are plenty of other points of interest that could become distant destinations.

I guess that means there's a market for more 7-Eleven stores in Xen'drik!

Anyway, adding the city of Dar Qat might make for a nice expansion to the game.

    Just my 2cp.

Campaign setting isnt Xendrik thats just one of the contenients(spelling) on Eberron. Stormreach is the only city the good aligned folks use on Xendrik Sharn is a city across the Ocean and I have a feeling that we will never see it in game while it would be cool to do so and maybe to visit the Mournlands as well.

MysticTheurge had a post going about adding Dar Qat and what he'd like to see in an expansion, but I suppose that's been lost too, now.
