Quoted for f'ing truth. 50% of the people I see die inside of the reaver are not taking care of healing themselves. 30% don't have a heavy fort item and either die when the reavers aggro goes wonky after antigrav, or on the reaver kill. 20% maybe die from unpreventable reasons.(Idiot in raid is not unpreventable IM(not so)HO. Show of hands who go into the reaver raid without at least 50 heal pots. In the raid itself everyone should be responsible for their own healing. Why should a cleric have to do all the healing especially with clerics Luthen whose abilities and skills are far better than some nimwit who sits in a corner and tosses out a heal every now and then. If someone were to tell me jsut to sit back and do nothing but heal on my cleric I highly doubt I would be in that group for very long.

Agreed Pixa. I tend to be the cleric covering the aggro holder. I heal him, myself and kill any damned ellies that come near us...

Just heal, I don't think so.

LOL - this whole thread (minus the whole original point by the OP) reminds me again why I just don't PUG raids.

Bah, now I am going to have to feed the egos of my guildies even more.

Two of them are Tigers, Scar...welcome to my world!

To touch on what the OP and several others have have already stated, I agree that a BC is not only doable, but is THE most efficient use of what most folks have turned into a rather mundane class.

Clerics have the second highest BA progression but are expected to hang back and heal squishy tanks!? I don't think so. Get over yourself and turtle up, bucko...time for you to get your game up.

Well, since I'm in a 1 man guild, and nobody is pugging raids...maybe it's time for me to join a larger guild

Lol Scars... Anytime that I am not busy farming raid loot feel free to look me up. Course given that I am the raid officer on duty most of the time, I am seldom not hitting reaver/dq/titan/dragon(cause they make me).

And Jun, you have seen my response to squishie tanks when I am playing Hem. If you can't do your damned job I will pull out my axe and do it for ya!! Not that I run into that problem often.

Because my wizzy likes to kill stuff and you clerics get in my way! STOP IT! I throw a finger or PK, expecting a kill and seeing that **** skull pop up over their heads instead! It would really **** me off, except before it gets that bad I get to watch a ftr run all the way down the hall to kill a mob and finger it just before he can hit it. That makes me feel much better.

    Well how's this, then...?

I hate you. I hate your holier-than-thou "I'm such a good BC, that I'll outkill every tank out there" attitude. I hate that you feel you're special by making your font a different color. I hate that you could presume to even think that you are allowed to play your character the way you want. I hate your bald-headed, scar-faced avatar. How dare you, you self-righteous, self-important, sorry excuse for a cleric!!! Why can't you go be a good little boy and play a heal-bot like everyone else!? Why do you have to be self-suffiecient!? What's the point!!?? Everyone knows that a battlecleric can't hit the broad side of a barn at high noon with a magnifying glass, so why do you even bother!!!???

You should just suck it up and conform to everyone around you. Don't be an individual. Don't play smart. Don't play well. And for the love of GOD, delete your gimp cleric before everyone puts you on their freaking BAN LIST!!!!!

    ...

Hmph...somehow it just doesn't have the same ring as the hate you Xorians can write up. Oh, well.

Addendum: I'd love to run with you sometime, man. I'm no spellslinger, so I'm making it my mission to create builds that can fight on the front-lines as well as any tank, and still be useful in his/her primary class. Any and all input is welcome from folks who have done it all successfully.

First off, there was a tank in the group who had higher AC and more HP than you. Second, we trusted him more because we knew him, therefore we wanted him tanking the reaver. Third, you were the only cleric we had, and if you were tanking the reaver all it would take is one of those no-save lightning bolts right when you're trying to heal yourself to interrupt your self-healing and f' the whole party over.

We were a VERY experienced group and had one of the best reaver raid leaders on the server running it. We do the raid as often as possible on several characters.

It was INCREDIBLY rude of you to just drop out of the group like that after I, the caster who does 90% of the real work, had already buffed everybody and we were seconds away from starting the raid. I had to recall out again and rebuff again once we had a real cleric.

Sorry to tell you, but you're nothing special. "Oh I wanna tank the reaver and show off my battle cleric build! WAH WAH WAH!" WE DON'T CARE! We just wanted a cleric for one of our many runs so we could fly through the raid as usual. After you left we got a real cleric and ran several 3-5 man raids.

You acted like a selfish little child, and you should just grow up already. Oh and take a look in your sig at that little quote: "A good player overcomes. A poor player is overcome." Sorry to be the one to tell you, but you've been overcome.

You wanted a cleric and he is a BC so the fit was not there he dropped now you are insulting someone because he did not conform to your wants. In the end WAH WAH WAH you had to rebuff everyone and make a simple run back to get your mana. Now how childish did I sound there very childish I think it is exactly what you just did.
How mature does that make you sound. Not very IMO. You ended up beating the reaver a couple times more even after so his dropping had no effect on the outcome of what was to come.
Why then call names and try to put him down it was HIS RIGHT to leave if he thought running it that way was not in his interest. My god it was a PUG what do you expect not everyone is going to want to play by your guilds rules and needs he didn't so he dropped what is wrong with that.
Now I really understand why I don't raid with others unless I know and trust there abilities gets BS like above when ya don't conform and people don't understand your playstyle and know you.
