    Default Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I hate it when a trade is agreed to then when I get online to finalise I get sorry - I dont need those items anymore.
And on the eigth day god went for a beer.

And on the ninth day he was still in the pub with his mates, and is going to be in big trouble when Mrs god finds him.

One time I agreed to a trade, but the other person sat on his hands and never tried to get ahold of me, and didn't actually have the item he had traded to me. He said somebody close to him had it, and he'd get it from them. Never happened. Eventually, I ended up pulling what I had needed for that trade, and called it off.

In that case I didn't feel bad, but it's another thing to agree to a trade and then immediately turn around and go back on it.

    Agreed.

I couldnt realy care less about the item - indeed it wasnt even for me but for a guildie who lost hers (*snip* cuts out long sob story) and thought Id help her out and get a similar item back for her.

Anyways, its just the principle of the thing, it was agreed here, then when it came to the crunch the other party didnt hold up their end of the bargin.

Im not going to lose any sleep over it, its just that I like people to stick to their word, as I would.

Well it definitely depends on the situation.

I've pulled out of a trade because I was an idiot and didn't read the post closely enough. When we went to trade, the item that I was looking for was not the one presented. Luckily the guy had another offer on the item so it was no problem for either of us to just call the trade off.

On the other hand, I've been in at least 5 trades where we have PM'ed each other and I've gotten written acceptance of the offer by email or forum post and then when I meet with the guys they have stated they got better offers at the last minute. Now this is just a game world and people don't mind screwing some one because they can hide behind the forums and ignore tells online but I try to bring as much honesty and respect to the game with me as I display irl. I expect no less of anyone that trades with me.

I would take it a step further than some Argos would. My word is very important to me. If I agree to a trade, even if I get better offers after an agreement has been made, I stick to the original trade. Some would call that foolishness, I call it backing up what I say.

I wish I could say the majority of people I have/attempted to make trades with see things from my point of view, but I've definitely gotten the shaft on several occasions. I feel your frustration OP.

I agree, once I commit to a trade then regardless of other offers I'll make the deal. There is one cavaet to this, the trade needs to be done in a reasonable amout of time because if I acquire the item I'm looking for then I no longer need yours. Say for example I was trading "heaven and earth" for a Kardin's Eye and after a few days I were to pull one, then I no longer need the one you were going to give me. I understand situations like these when I'm on the opposite side of the deal, which has happened more than once, even on the same day I've made the deal.
