    Default A show of hands....

Currently there is a poll asking who is for and against the new raid loot system. Im against it. I am thinking about quiting the game because of it, and going to a game that doesnt yank the carrot out of the mouth of players who finally get charactors to go do hard quests and make them look easy.

All i want to know now is who is thinking about leaving because of this change. A wave and a small word would suffice.

    Not going anywhere.

Changing of things like this is trivial to me. I play this game for the friends and people I meet.

if loot ever becomes a big enough deal for me to be concerned about this sort of change, then yes: i'll leave.

it's always one hoop or another with MMOs as far as loot is concerned. The hoops may change, but the principle will remain. If you can't deal with changing rules, this is not the genre for you.

Default it's a good thing (tm)

    Not leaving. Applaud the change.

Hard is a relative thing. The quests that were hard when I started are easy now by comparison - and yes, I enjoy blowing through them on occasion. The (old/current) raid loot mechanic strongly favored favoritism. It penalized the (up to) 10 people who didn't get an item, after working for (theoretically) hours to get there.

I'm all for anything that gives casual players a level playing field instead of rewarding the uber-l33t powergamers who tend to cheapen the experience for everyone else.

i'm against the new loot system but i wouldn't leave the game over it. i think the only thing they could do to make me actually no longer enjoy playing is if they sprung random actually deadly traps everywhere because if i have to wait for a rogue in every quest i try to run i'd shoot myself. but even then i probably woulnd't leave the game because i like the community. i'd just stop questing.

not devestating.. boring there is only so many times i can run giant hold quests. this game doesnt come out with enough new content to remain interesting. (1/6) of 50% crappy items means no reason to ever run raids.

    Default Not leaving

I'm still having fun running non-raid missions with friends and guildies.

I don't see a reason to leave due to this change.

Wouldn't you expect a change like that to inspire more people to make rogues, thereby eliminating the otherwise short-term problem?

And to the OP: Ha! Get over it already.

Why would I quit the game over loot? Raid or not its not a huge part of the game for me. Yeah I <3 loot, but Im not gonna quit over it.

Pfft...and yer feeble attempt to blackmail Turbine into changing their minds wont get you very far. If they do rethink the raid loot you can rest assured it wasn't because of this thread.

    Ok, back on topic.

I don't like the new system.

Overall, it has no appreciable benefit to casual raiders and full group raiders, and only offers detriment to power raiders.

I just can't see why everyone thinks that by tearing down the power raiders it makes the game somehow better for casual raiders.

    Oh well.

But, that said, it will not affect my game play or enjoyment at all because I am a casual (and usually full group) raider.

I dont see how the new system ends progress...changes the path to progress, yes i can see that. More difficult progress for some, easier for others. But end? Not seeing it. Like the person said to whom you were responding, it's the nature of the genre (as you so aptly noticed is also the case with coffee houses). If you're leaving over change, then best of luck finding an MMO where that doesnt happen.

This is only an end for the unadaptable among us.

So instead of having to negotiate for a raid loot item I'm getting a percentage chance for an item plus an option to negotiate and/or trade for an item from someone else...I'm still going to be here.

The game is much more than just raid loot anyway.

The real irony of the new system is you stand a slightly better chance of getting the item you want by creating full parties and negotiating. Running a raid with a handful of people or solo is actually lowering your odds of getting raid loot.
