Default feedback and opinions from adar/aerenal players

I would like to start a positive thread regarding server merge comments, fears, opinions, and feedback. It has been a few days since the merge and I am interested in hearing positive thoughts and insights from adar and aerenal players. I have been playing on Sarlona since the game released and here are my insights.
    1. Now maybe it's to early to tell, however, so far the AH prices are the same as before the merge. The economy hasn't changed accept for there are more items on the list. People are rich on all servers.
    2. Roleplayers on Sarlona are still sticking together. Since beta I have only been in 1 pug roleplaying group by accident.
    3. Each server has its uber/elite/raid guilds including native sarlonians.
    4. PVP in lobster. From observation people from all three servers are killing eachother. In the mixmash of people pvping no one server has or dominates another. Each server has superstar characters. And I would love to see an official tournament with no interuptions or intrustions from random players. A tournament like that might put to rest the uber pvpers who have ants in their pants.
    5. I have grouped with a lot of cool/good players and some bad ones. As I am sure everyone has from other servers. No suprise there. Ran a reaver raid the other night with adar. Process was the same, nothing new. Ran invaders elite last night with aerenal players. Same route, same process. POP elite, same route same tricks.
In conclusion, I would comment that things aren't all that different among the servers. I recall pre-merge there was a lot of talk and anxiety about uberness, economy, and roleplayers. what are your insights?

    Default All Good

Almost nothing but good to say about the server merge.

So far I've had my fun in the pvp pits, and for the most part it was good-natured fun.

I've run pugs on loot, xp, favor and raids... haven't learned any new tricks, most strategies seem similar from what I knew. There have been great and mediocre players from all 3 servers.

I have met some great new people, but still run 80% of my groups with only guildies, and I assume this is true for many of us.

Auctions seem the same as always; some good buys, some rip-offs, some honest prices. But there is certainly a larger selection. That's a big plus.

Only really bad thing I have experienced since the merge thus far is lag issues. Load screens have a tendancy to freeze up for a full minute or two, and portals/dimdoors in dungeons also seem to be a victim. I've also had whole parties freeze for a few seconds mid-fight. It makes some things a real pain in the butt, but it is liveable imho, until they give us the promised fix. I only hope that said fix actually helps.

    Default Aww shucks Razz...

    Let the goodtimes roll, eh?

I think you're spot-on Razz. More or less nothing has changed. You see lots of new names running around, and there's a handful more lfm's up than there was before.

It is much easier to get groups filled, which is super-cool, and running into a few PUGs that are nice people, good players, and fun to play with is an enormous surprise. It's also nice to have a LOT more auctions in the AH. I'd like to see more mid level gear with buyouts though. People can't seem to realize that a 5th level item likely won't be needed after 3 days. Give me a buyout so I can just buy it.

Things that are turnoffs for me.. People using the LFM's as recruiting services for thier guilds. Any guild that recruits like that is probably going to find a lot of people that aren't gonna be good fits, unless they take a lot of time after meeting them to feel them out.

    Lag on load screens.

    HUGE lagspikes at random times.

Other than that, it's been pretty swell. With a handful of exceptions, all the new people I've met have been enjoyable, and that isn't any different than if we'd not had a merge at all.

Glad we have new people to harass though. :-)

I will start by saying I mainly run with guildies. I only pugged when there was no open spots for me in guild groups or I was leveling a new char. However, I am trying to pug a little more to get a feel for how other people from other servers play. Honestly, no difference. In pugs you get a mixed bag just like before. Some you like, some you don't notice and some you will never group with again.

So, nutshell.... no big deal. Just more people around to run with when needed.

    Default Server merge opinion

So far its been great. I am having fun meeting new people. What amazes me is that people actually thought there would be a difference in the way things would be done. I mean PoP is PoP I am sure what works on one server works on another the mobs arent different per server so the apprehension expressed by some was just silly. Same thing with those concerned about economy. A-its a game and B-plat farmers who drive up prices are everywhere, even my spam mail to buy plat is the same.

Lag- pretty bad all over though but I just look for the 2nd or 3rd instance and pop in there which helps. 3 GH instances, isnt it GREAT!!!!

But seriously, fix the lag please.

All the people I have grouped with have been super nice and awesome players!
    Gaming gives me goosebumps

    My thoughts ???

PUG's are plentiful and fill up fast. Life is good from that side!

If you snooze you will loose out on that group that looks interesting, but not to worry and new one will come along shortly.

The people I've met were all awesome! Not a rotten apple in the bunch.

    Good things All.

I think we all got very lucky

So far it's been all good. I made a pretty good trade with a guy from Aerenal and I've grouped with members of both the other servers. Haven't had a bad experience once. In case anyone from the Adar or Aerenal is looking for a guild Ten Ton Hammers is recruiting btw.

    The good...
I've met plenty of new players and a few guild that I'd be glad to group with ANY time.
I've learned new techniques from other servers.
I've never had an issue filling or joining a group.

    The bad...
Server performance seems to be down.
Lag spikes are a real pain.
    AH prices are still ridiculous.

    The ugly...

With so many players, it's hard to identify the poor ones. For instance, we were running the Caravan on Elite for favor and were using a bard to fascinate the mobs. We had a pug player that decided it would be a good idea to stand in the middle of that group and hit everything he could... not playing as a team meant that we failed with just under 5 minutes left. I don't typically blacklist people, but certain ones need to learn more before they level up. Sadly, with so many people it will be easy for them to stick in groups and continue to level beyond their abilities.

I've had all positive experiences so far, and the lag hasn't been bad at all for me - maybe even better than when I was just on Aerenal. It's nice to feel like I'm moving around a populated city again. Lots of people, LFM's, etc. No complaint! Great!

I still like it over all. I've PUGed with alot of people...we all do things the same. Run into a few rude people...but hey that's life. Gotten some amusement from some of the threads on the forum. Noticed alot of guilds simply don't run with other people...that never went down on Aerenal...I think that should change. Sometimes there is way to much stuff in the AH(pain in the arse if you ask me), way to many Trade threads(don't even bother lookin anymore), but overall I think it rocks.

I really just don't understand why people think that just because we have played on different servers, that we are playing a different game with different loot opportunities ect... I have found that there is pretty much no difference. Same stategies, same items, same pretty much everything. The only difference is that some people are getting upset with the slight nueances that certain server people use for ingame; which generally do not impact other people's gaming experiences.

Anyway, I personally have found that the game has become more enjoyable with the increased amount of players / group opportunities and whatnot.

Great concerning finding PUG's, but the lag is alot worse than before. Met some I will continue to look to play with and a few that I will avoid like the plague. "/run away". All in all very happy with the merge, and I agree, haven't noticed much of a change in playing styles or abilities, in spite of all the chest thumping.

So far so good, but now that I know courderoyguy is on this server I might have to move. I mean, he only talked about me once on his podcast...

As it is, I notice much the same that I noticed premerger. The lag issues aside, the strategies are all the same. PVP has increased overall, as I almost never saw people doing it before.

In groups I still get the same questions constantly, "How is that Warforged Cleric, Warforged Wizard / Fighter, or Warforged Rogue working out for you?" Got those questions constantly, and will likely continue to get them. It's the price you pay for only playing Warforged.

Oh, and for all the Aundair and Aerenal people our there that have not asked me yet, the Warforged characters are going well and I love them. Thats why I have only Warforged characters.

Overall Server merger has been positive. I love the fact that there are more people on at all times. Only thing is lag at times and these downtimes.
