Thanks for the suggestions unbongwah, much appreciated! Lots to work with and ponder there. The axesinger sounds pretty familiar, I think that is what I worked with in the past. Love your builds. The Dwarven Defender Parody sounds interesting, I really like the idea of being able to keep some rogue. I'd forgoe being able to handle traps if I could at least do locks. Makes me crazy to leave locked doors/chests and loots. The iconic options are interesting, but I'll be focusing on heoric levels for now. Although I did just started a shader-kai tempest trap monkey for giggle and sh!ts

Hey! I've been looked through the forums for a few hours now, and unless I'm blind, I can't seem to find the old Monk/Wizard melee build. It doesn't seem too difficult to build, but I'm curious how people are building it nowadays with the Monk pass. If Monk isn't the preferred way anymore, what are the other popular Melee wizard builds?

    A few non-monk threads:

    https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...e-Bladesingers!
    https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...r-First-Lifers

I don't recall seeing any recent wiz / monk builds, although with the recent buffs to monk, they should be more viable now. Maybe wiz 12 / monk 6 for wraith form + T5 Shintao or Henshin?

Ahh, these all look really good! I'm probably going to go with your 'Wraith Blade' build because I'm going to be running with a new character, and trapping sounds nice for that. Thank you!

When it comes to Wizard + Monk, Henshin seems like the best of both worlds with it's elemental weakness, 10 free aura spellpower at tier 4, yet ability to get 30 (35 with T4 Focus) free melee power and 9 PRR from only the cores up to level 6.

Rog 1 / monk 6 / wiz 12 would probably make a good staff build: trap skills, +15% atk speed from Acrobat, +35 MP and +1 crit range & multiplier from Henshin. Either WF using Shadow Veil + Reconstruct spell or wraith form w/Death Aura + NEB, I guess.

Default 20 Human Pure Bard Thrower (will be starting at level 20)

    Heyas,

So it appears that I am on my last Bard life that "counts", as in this is my 3rd Bard life on this toon.

I plan on farming a bunch of Epic Destinies on this life. Currently, I am a Warchanger/Swashbuckler (Tier 5 and Core 6 Warchanter).

I plan on farming 2 Martial Spheres (mainly in LD with a Handaxe).

I do want to get some Primal Past lives done...

I am thinking that a Swashbuckler that focused in being a thrower would be good?

Every time you go from 30 to 20, you can respec.

So my thinking was, I can respec into a Thrower/Shiradi build.

The problem is...I have no idea how to make a thrower build...

So this is a request a build...

    Human 20 bard...thrower...

Any help would be appreciated...gonnna post this in the request a build>get a build thread too.

TLDR: Can I get a Human 20 Bard Thrower?

    Default Sorcadin?

    Hey guys,

So I've been playing 3.5E Pen and paper with some buddies recently and thought I would come give this a shot since I'm super hyped about it.

My question is: Can I play a melee 'Sorcadin' or 'Gish' like in 3.5E and still be any good? I don't have to be the best..but I want to be somewhat useful.

Basically a melee combatant with strong self buffs.

I've subscribed and will buy whatever premium stuff I need if I can make that work. The only builds like this I've seen are very outdated.

    Thanks!

DDO is NOT D&D - good, or even "decent" builds in D&D can be disastrous in DDO, failing before Level 10. It's the Enhancement Trees that make the diff, that are new to PnP players, and that require some getting used to. However, the fact that you aren't chasing "must lead the kill count" helps...

And, yes, Gishes exist in DDO. (altho' almost always as Wizards - but see link @ bottom)

Without offering a full build, I will say that just 2-3 levels of Pali can give you a LOT of defense, plus self-healing, plus etc. - so it might well be doable - esp if you "don't have to be the best".

Fun is where you find it - GL!

o Sorc 14/Favored Soul 4/Pali 2: Note- OLDER build, NO idea if still viable! Posting as starting/reference point for others who may find it useful to offer updated version: (OP uses Favored Soul + Bladeforged, both Premium. Warforged is also Premium, but might be preferable, and an easy switch from BF. Also, last post in thread mentions player who found success w/ "fleshy version", so ymmv on race.)

Sure you can: it's called a bard.

The recent buffs to Kensei also make ftr / wiz (or sorc) hybrids more viable than they used to be. Some examples:

I've been wanting to play a THF fighter ever since the fighter pass came to be, since Kensai stuff became a lot better.

So as I was roaming through the forums I happened upon Cetus' bladeforged fighter build which... is definitely not for me, if only because of the +1 heart. But it also gave me an itch to play a centered fighter, and lo and behold, here I am looking for that.

Also, I'm not sure how it works with the stacking, but an option that came to mind was a maul-wielding fighter 12/paladin 6/monk 2 PDK, who picks up Silvanus' +2 threat range to mauls divine feat and climb up the kensai tree, with the option of going either know the angles or divine might(I believe KtA is better for epics as divine might doesn't stack with insightful str items? but then CHA keeps my saves up for evasion, as I'd be lacking armor)

Or I could do the same but as a Bladeforged, with good self-heals(not that great for reapers), but missing out on the +2 threat to mauls. Probably wielding Greataxes(Riftmaker) or Falchions instead?

Or this is all too over-complicated and instead it's better to simply go Ftr18/Monk 2 and get your heals from cocoon, but then it's a bit harder to keep Reflex high enough for EEs

So these are the 3 ideas I had, but got hardly any idea how simple they are to execute/how effective these builds are. Any suggestions on building a centered fighter appreciated!

It's...complicated. Divine Might doesn't stack with Insightful STR gear, but STR bonuses provide +1.5x dmg mod to 2H weapons, whereas KtA only provides +1/2 INT dmg mod regardless of weapon type / combat style. And since Insightful STR gear caps out at +7, IIRC, there's a point at which Div Might will still beat KtA for 2H builds for sufficiently high CHA builds. Plus it also boosts your saves if you're going the pal 6 route, of course.
but then CHA keeps my saves up for evasion, as I'd be lacking armor)
FYI, armor no longer provides MRR, so it's irrelevant to one's magical defenses, which is where Evasion comes into play. Whereas heavy armor adds up to +60 PRR at lvl 30 vs robes which get nothing; though a centered build can pick up +20 PRR from Iron Skin (Shintao) for 8 APs regardless of stance.

An up to date viable dual wielding warhammer build. More for a bud who is new to the game than for myself. Interested in first life or third life build. Class and race flexible. As much info as possible appreciated.
CANNITH player. Recently returned to the game after 2 years, proudly back with Skunkworks my old crew. Finally hit completionist after 6 years on Pyrau (2017)!! Have 10 other epic characters across all play styles, some TRs.

Pretty much any TWF build can be tweaked for warhammers: i.e., barb, pally, ftr, ranger. There's a lot of options in the Repository, so let's just pick one of each:

    barb: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...-TWF-Pure-Barb
    pally: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...yers-%28U23%29
    rgr: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...ivine-crusader
    ftr: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post5889548

Where appropriate, drop any slashing / piercing feats for blunt weapons instead; also drop khopesh proficiency if not going that route, obviously.

Thanks unbongwah! Any suggestion between them for highest dps and any specific enhancements you would switch/grab to maximize the blunt damage?

Also have a returning VIP buddy who is looking for a first life fvs/monk build focused mainly on healing, but also unarmed melee DPS, any suggestions? *Edit, forgot to mention it would be for a new first life character, 32pt build.

Are there any good melee druid builds for the current state of the game? I saw random things about people combining feats that were 'bugs' but made it competitive dps class? Looking for a high dps melee class. The arcane warrior builds I've been trying seem to be left in the dust.

I did this one by Dragbon: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...-2-0-10D-6R-4F

A few lives ago and it held up extremely well and was really fun to play.

I would probably stick with pure ranger, just because the Tempest enhancements are so sweet. Run in Dreadnought b/c Pulverizer will stack w/DWS crit range bonus. Best epic named Warhammer is still Mornh, IMO, tho good luck acquiring one.

Otherwise pure Kensei going for heavy armor? For LULZ I have a CON-based dwarf build somewhere, I'm sure...

I haven't seen a lot of clonk builds lately, but with the monk buffs I was thinking cleric 17 / monk 3 will see a resurge in interest. Lvl 9 spells (is Mass Heal making a comeback w/Reaper?); T5 Servant aura + Fists of Light + Ameliorating Strike for lots of passive / free healing; WIS-based w/Stunning Fist perhaps?

    Hi,

I'm putting a reaper group together and I'm planning on playing a FvS H-Elf, as a Healbot primarily. only thing is that I have no idea what sort of stat spread/ enhancements to use for a FvS, all I know is that Pally Dil is a strong choice for H-Elf FvS.

Because of the flavour of the group, the contraints are:
    -Pure Build
    -32 Pts

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
